well for my car i have the mods are going to be:

1000cc injectors
Walbro 255
3.5" FMIC (kind of worried about this)
LICP
Spoolinup COP kit
Perrin intake tube w/ Amsoil Filter
soon to be ported Ebay o2 housing
soon to be ported Intake and exhaust manifolds
MilSpec 65mm TB
megan 3" DP
Junb.l catback and testpipe (may keep the Perrin HFC)
Forge UNOS MBC (may go with a Perrin EBCS)
GSC S2 Mivec Cams
GSC single Beehive springs
AMSoil engine/TC/Tranny fluids
Buschur front motor mount
ACT HDSS clutch and streetlite flywheel
AMS shifter cable bushings

the car has a few of these things installed already some are getting installed at CBRD along with a timing belt service.

as far as my FMIC. not sure if it will hold me back which i hope it doesnt but we'll see i guess. its a 3.5" core and it has done great with my stock turbo but i hope the BBK-B isnt to much for it. i was told people running 35r's are using it with no issues but who knows.

i'm hoping for at least 415hp or so but i guess as long as its a beast but i would love a 4++ hp dyno sheet to prove it lol

plus i want to give whatever car that pulls up next to me a ride for his money lol

Why are you worried about the fmic? Now you got me worried, I just got an ETS 3 in, is that not enough to handle the B? Maybe I'm out of my mind but this flows as much as an Fp red which an evo at my local dyno laid down 470 with if I'm not mistaken. Either way this is the turbo I have decided on, hopefully my goal can be reached....

vmrevo9 Jul 29, 2010 02:57 AM

its not a garrett core. its a BYC intercooler. but it is a bar and plate design. i was told they have been tested on 750 whp cars but like i said we'll see how it does on the dyno. i'm sure eventually i will upgrade to a CBRD intercooler (like the idea of not cutting anything). the GA heat can be killer!

evo4life400 Jul 29, 2010 03:59 AM

I had an ets 3 inch with my 64mm fp red setup a while back and it was not doing so good. granted it was hot as he'll but if my tuner did 3 pulls in a row the 3rd pull I would lose like 20whp

TURBevO8 Jul 29, 2010 04:40 AM

I was planning on running the Buschur Street (3.5" Garret core). Thoughts on that? I dont think I need the Race (3.8" core) or the CBRD (3.8" core) for pump gas levels of boost.

evo4life400 Jul 29, 2010 07:34 AM

I have the buschur street and it does a great job...figment was a little iffy though but it definitely can handle the bbk-b

vmrevo9 Jul 29, 2010 03:12 PM

yeah i was looking at the buschur FMIC but i not sure due to maybe not having the stock undertray fit and having to buy another LICP. if anything i might go with an AMS or CBRD unit. we'll see.

apagan01 Jul 29, 2010 03:23 PM

Victor great mod path :)

3.5 should be plenty, i ran their 3" at 30 psi no issues that i could tell,, i like buschurs cores he uses Garret blanks

as far as cams i learned a lesson when i had my Cossi M2s,,, and i stand very strong that at your power level the stock mivec cams are fine where they are at, many folks down here made very good power with the stock cams on the red and old style FP green, there usto be a IX with buschurs cast old style 30r turbo kit and the guy made 500 WHP on the stock IX cams.

the evo IX cam is a pretty aggresive stock grind,,, believe me i went through this over and over and i did not regret my cams but my conclussion was that at my power level 380 on pump 400 on 110oct bigger cams did not benefit me on the dyno,,, many many reasons why i say this.

have you done the research and have a definate answer for the BBK,,, i would opt for the Red

hey Andy,

i have thought about the Red and i think the BBK will be a better choice for me. the FUll is a great turbo and hardly any to no Lag. the B seems to be slighty slower in spool but doesnt seem to be as bad. the Red is a good turbo but i dont think it will be the one for me.

as far as cams i had figured to might as well get them in for the extra hp and since the timing belt is going to be replaced (due to the crazy noise) might as well to it all together.

the FMIC i have is a 3.5" but since i havent really thrown anything at it i dont know if it will handle the extra air well. its not a garrett core but it is a bar and plate design. it looks like an AMS clone

so far not to bad on stock turbo pushing 25psi and i would do a few pulls and pull over to check by hand and it seemed that it was holding up well as far as temp. but of course that is not concrete data  i would even hit the 2step and build my 15psi for a few seconds then i would check and the hot side was really hot and the cold side was slightly warm. but i guess we'll see how it does on the dyno

I have a friend running an ebay core for over 4 years now and he has raced that IC all over the place iam telling you he has put that frecking thing through its paces, from 22psi all way up to 39spi all over 500whp in the florida heat with no issues at all,,,, you can touch the lower ic pipe and by hand super hot, you then touch the upper pipe by hand and to find it super cool.

Many said that the HTA Green was FP's answer to the BBK. So, is the BBK-B, a response to the FP Red?

They both flow 60/lbs per min, I would say its a fair comparison...

awesome that is good to hear hopefully i have the same luck. hopefully this setup will last me a long time. after i get this turbo i do not plan on upgrading it again. i do plan on building the motor and head when the time comes though. i just have to decide which displacement to go with. but that will hopefully be years down the line.

Andy once i get this thing done i'll have to take a trip to see you. i'll keep you posted.

Compared to the fp black, is this turbo capable of 700 hp

It is a much smaller turbo

I wonder now that this thing is out is Chad still sticking to the fact that he has said repeatedly for a year now that this is smaller than the Red. If that is in fact true or if they both, in fact, flow 60lb/min.
