So i had to end up leaving my blue beast at AWD overnight, but since my car is there not only will i be getting the head gasket fixed, im also having them throw in some ARP head studs, and take my old exhaust set up off and install a Greddy Ti and downpipe that i had sitting in my house for the last few months !!!

Thats cool. At least you're using the opportunity to add some mods! {thumbup}

How much does a head gasket job usually run for. Rough estimate.

I would have the Valve Seals replaced while your there and maybe have the Valve Lapped at the very least. If you have the money, have the head sent to a machine shop to clean it up.

I'm having these same symptoms with my Evo Viii. were you able to solve the problem?

well it depends how high it went up.... my coolant temp gauge use to fluctuate, never to hot though it would go to c, but the car wouldnt change its drivability while doing it. In my opinion your thermostat like some have said, if you do it I would advise a full coolant flush not a drain and fill, change all your coolant, even turn on the heater core, that way your coolant is circulated through that system, top it off see if it still does it, if so you may possibly have a clogged up radiator, hopefully. Not a head gasket. Good luck.

He was, if you read the thread you'd know, but to make it simple -- it's his headgasket that gave way to high cylinder pressure, pressurizing the cooling system and most likely spewing coolant through the overflow.

bumping this, temp also rose up on my gauge momentarily and went back down. Also coolant was sprayed on the top of the underside of the hood, but there was coolant in the reservoir
