I had the same problem at my last timing belt job. This was a bolt I had installed with the same air impact that now wouldn't remove it. An Ingersoll Rand crank bolt socket zipped it right off.

You need to crank the air up. Air tools are worthless at 90psi.

Crank up the regulator. Watch the gauge drop when you pull the trigger I bet youre only seeing something like 60# at the gun. Just crank up the pressure youre not going to hurt the gun. It should pop right off.

Agreed with the above. If you don't have a high pressure (150+ psi) air source with at least a 5+ gallon tank, then a beefy electric impact will do the trick. I've never met a bolt that has not come off using this impact. Picked it up last year and never looked back. Max break away is actually 1200 ft/lbs.

My compressor runs at 130psi. I crank it all the way up to remove crank bolts and axle nuts. I otherwise run the gun at 90psi, just to be on the safe side (harbor freight Earthquake = questionable quality :lol: )

Impact. If you don't have access to one or don't have air I recommend buying one of the Milwaukee M18 High Torques. More power than my snapon air. If you only need it once you can get it from home Depot and return it afterwards .
