On jack stands huh? How tough was it?

ILuvJDM Jul 1, 2012 11:31 AM

not too bad, I hit a few snags but that happens with everything. Stripped one of the starter bolts, couldn't get the tie rod ends out of the spindle (got a bigger hammer), couldn't get the TOB to release so I unbolted the pressure plate from the clutch fork hole - little things like that.

I haven't had any help at all so far, and it hasn't been bad on jackstands. I would recommend lowering the subframe. This is my first time doing a clutch/tranny so I can't comment on how hard it is with it in there, but I can say it's nice and easy with it out of the way.

How long did it all take?

ILuvJDM Jul 1, 2012 12:57 PM

well I started on 6/23 but I didn't work on it every day and some days I worked for like an hour then quit... so I don't really know. I was taking my time and working slow though

Draining and refilling transfercase to see if that stops my whine. Hopefully its just low on fluid.

Installed ETS IX "wide" FMIC and AEM wb with logging harness. Hot out in that garage this morning...

left the key in the ignition with the radio on for two hours while at a meeting. One of the ladies at the office came in and said, "How come your radio is on in your car???"

DOH!!!

Installed works underhood shifter bushings and buschur racing aluminum shifter bushings. The stock rubber ones didnt seem that bad, and the difference was questionable my first spin around the block. After more driving though, id say it was 100 bucks well spent. Also got 1 of those yellow tow stickers for peace of mind.

Installed new slotted rotors and new underhood and shifter base bushings. The difference is amazing!
