Well, not today, but this passed weekend...
painted new fenders and front bumper. Installed fender braces, and new strut tops. stripped down the VIS carbon fiber hood I got, then clear coated it with a better, harder clear coat. (I also laid down a "spirit of competition" graphic on the carbon fiber (in color matched paint) , then buried it in the clear) I also used an OEM vent on the VIS hood, then installed factory diagram and emissions stickers on the under side. Attachment 277466 Here it is so far... I have let the paint flash, and due to the conditions I had to do the painting, there is some minor crap in the clear, so next chance I get, I am going to do some light color sanding before the polish. Attachment 277467 Like I said... the paint has not been polished, so it still looks pretty dull. Oh yeah, also polished up and installed a set of IX JDM headlamps, and the Rexpeed CF SE style lip. Discovered that the OEM front crash beam had been bent down in the accident, so I had to remove it. Now the front doesn't have the strong mounting points for the front bumper... gonna have to get a cusco front power brace so I have those mounting points. |
Bought a non wing / hole trunk to paint and install next week. Duck bill soon after I think. Or a custom spoiler perhaps. Don't know how tech I wanna get!

reinstalled wiring harness! after re-wrap of the entire harness

Spent $400 on chemicalguys.com for some detailing equipment. Got the PC, pads, polish and other goodies. Now to find the 20 hours it's going to take to correct my paint :crap:....

Did a boost leak test. Using soapy water, found air bubbles coming from the intake manifold gasket on runner 4 at the bolt behind the Alternator bracket. Seems the alternator is really clean, as opposed to the ac compressor. I believe the alternator was replaced onced from the last owner, and was installed with less attention then it should have. The nut seems tight, will double check tomorrow with the proper tools.

Fixed the HVAC, well sorta lmao! Think I have a cable problem, gears move freely and well greased but when I go to hot it wont go back to the cold side. Simply took the cable off the gear and adjust by hand lol fixed ;)
Fixed driver window jamming 3/4 the way up. WD40 ftw! |

I got my freshly powdercoated brembos back from the machine shop. The mounting bolt threads and one of the bleeder screw valve threads got messed up somehow when I disassembled them an I also wrapped my shifter console with the 3m dinoc carbon fiber wrap. It was a pain in the ass lol. The primer makes it super sticky. Now I can finally put everything back on and drive my evo. It's been down for about a month lol.
