Used a DA, I actually have a DA like you'd find on some of the detailers websites it is old but works however my dad currently has it he's using on his boat at the moment

So I had to use Meguiers DA system, the Drill attachment one. You can get cutting, polishing and waxing pads for it. Washed car clayed areas I set out to tackle, then M1 Medium Cut, M9 Swirl Remover, then Ultimate Compund, Ultimate Polish, and NXT Gen wax. Finished off with some spray wax over top of it all. Surf City Barrier Reef Spray Wax.

Like I said doors are 80% better which is way good for me. I've seen some neglected paint out there so I'm not complaining.

My next Dr. Beasley's order (Own a Matte Grey Car as well) I'm going to give them a call to give me suggestions on what to use and try some of their polishes and compounds for the Evo as I get 40% off anything they sell in a bottle so it's way worth it for the higher end product in that case.

Some of the other High End stuff on the market while it may be what I need to fully correct the paint, that and some more practice, is too rich for my blood and may require an orbital or straight rotary machine to apply which I do not own and really don't see myself buying right now. Until car is fully repainted, car has some spots no amount of paint correction would save. I never liked the look of mudgards on the EVO myself so the lower doors and lower rear bumper are sand blasted from years of road debris.

Once it's fully repainted It'll get 3M Clear Bra on all the common chip areas. Or hell maybe I'll just dip the damn thing. Some of the new Peel Coats are insane. Though I wonder if it can be had in pints/gallons cause I wouldn't want to aerosol the car even a panel or 2 at a time I dont trust it'll come out as good as if I shot it through a paint gun. I know with Rubber Dip it's pre thinned and all Pour, Cap, and Shoot

There are a few guys in the area that do paint correction and no wonder they get what they get for it. It takes forever

I've got a 3m bra on mine, its been on for years to a point that's its a bit old and scratched but I don't want to take it off in fear of damaging the clear coat, so its going to stay on to the end of life of the car, Ive also got some plastidip on the bumper which has been on for 2 years and is still holding up, the issue with plasti is that its a matt colour and doesn't really gloss up even with glossifier

I tore off a mud flap today, but was well worth it :-)

gsrboi80, on your swirls in the paint, try this old time detailers trick. Get yourself a can of Lemon Pledge furniture polish, spray a coat over the area and hit it with a wool buffing pad.

It was a trick we used on black cars after buffing/polishing/waxing. The oil in the Pledge will tend to dissolve the high spots of build up in what you used.

It's not a permanent fix, but great for going out for the night or to a show. On black you'd have a mirror finish.

If you paint is really bad, I've even buffed a car with a wool bonnet, using engine oil. Does similar, the paint is dried out and the oil tends to liven it back up. An old auction trick to make a dog look good for a day.

Washed my car since only 10% chance of rain.. Watched it rain on my car 5 hours later.

Finally figured out my whine issues at high speeds and low growl/howl at low speeds.

Rear diff is broke =(. I turned the input shaft on the diff and it binds and catches while you attempt to spin it and makes a subtle clunk inside the diff as well.

Rear diff removal took me about 2 hours... expected it to be longer... that was easy as pie.

Off to TRE or Shep for a rebuild. Kind of excited for the max lock upgrade along with my energy suspension rear diff bushing kit.

replaced the battery and put more fuel in it :lol:
