So I can get into program mode (locks cycle) on my 06 EVO SE but after that i get no response from the remote. Is it a bad remote? Im doing this with the key in the off position.

My key programming issue was caused by the previous owner in Japan, they had cut a wire which disabled a few JDM remote functions including programming. They also ground out the key lock number off the key so that nobody could copy the key code easily.
I’m having the same problem. Did you find out what cable was cut? Or where does that pin #1 cable goes to?
