The power steering line bracket on an 03 is a 12mm.....top bolt on pump is 17mm

SpeedJunkyz Apr 10, 2008 07:33 PM

also the "17mm" bolts holding the subframe up, the ones behind the brake assembly.......are 19mm on 03's and are not very easy to get out i been nailing away at it with my air tools and no budgy....

Use a breaker bar to break it loose if you got one. Then zip it out with the air tools. A half inch impact should do it no problem though.

SpeedJunkyz Apr 10, 2008 07:56 PM

also whether you should support the tc should be mentioned

shunderwunder Apr 10, 2008 08:04 PM

Yeah but you are dropping your subframe after the trans is already out of the car. Most people will be dropping the subframe while the TC is still bolted to the tranny & the tranny is still in the car.the motor & tranny mounts will hold everything fine without the subframe.

SpeedJunkyz Apr 10, 2008 08:17 PM

well its out.....one broken bar, two busted balls, and a HOLE lot of cussing later that bugger is out lol!!!! WOOT Oh and I didnt mention the drivehaft to the forehead didnt feel goo either lol.....Stopping for today picking back up tomorrow..

shunderwunder Apr 10, 2008 08:36 PM

Hope the busted balls weren't yours. I think you're suposed to cuss or it wont do what you want it to. I think I'm just gonna start yelling cuss words at mine before I start working on it & maybe that will be enough to allow everything to go smoothly.

I have had my Exedy twin disk for 6 months now but have been putting the install off since. This info just gave me more motivation to do it

SpeedJunkyz Apr 10, 2008 08:45 PM

You need two people for the subframe.....thats where I lost my balls

When the track opens I will make the stock clutch go through hell by practicing my 60FT and then I will put the twin in. My best 60 is a 1.9
