Once you get to your destination, you never drive the car again??

It's not because you are going to frive for 8 hours that you have more chance to get paintchips.

If you drive your car 16x for 30minutes -let's say to your work- you have driven it the same time... So you might cover it up the whole time you have it then

Its different when you are driving at 80-90mph in heavy flowing traffic. The Northeast highways will besat the **** out your front end because you really can't space yourself out with all the people. Not to mention it is cheap just for highway trips and never fads or turns yellow like a clear bra. I say it makes perfect sense.

No its not stupid.

What gives you chips are rocks and rocks come from highway construction areas.

When youre going cross county there will be at least 3 construction areas in a span of 500 Miles. And that dude driving in front of you will be throwing these rock straight for your bumper.

You're also protecting your paint from bugs. Try driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco during summer and see how much bug juice you can scoop off your front bumper after 500 Miles.

Driving to and from work doesnt count since this drive will be the same drive that everyone in your city is doing. which means its very busy freeway which also means all the rocks (if there are any) are already pushed on the side of the freeway from all the cars constantly driving there.

If I would have bought my evo from hundreds of miles away I would have done the same thing. Who wants paint chips after just buying a new car?
