I've yet to see anyone have an issue with a mustache eliminator on a road course car. As to the reason Mitsu went with the cast iron path, I'd wager a guess it was a cost reduction, or they were trying to add weight in the rear and low to the ground to bring the CoM down and rearward as much as possible.

Then why spend all the money on the aluminum rear subframe? Yet, they chose a heavy steel front subframe on a nose heavy car? Does the mustache bar design control NVH better?
All I did was swap to urethane bushings, and the rear diff got a lot louder. It whines like crazy. |

That's my guess. The weight, material, and extra set of bushings would do a whole lot to make the car feel more refined.

That's an easy fix...louder exhaust :fire:
Joking aside, my money is on NVH and cost/strength ratio. Save money on X spend more on Y type of thing. |

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...1e717d6d6.jpeg Today’s project is pulling off the Morrison kit and boxing up things for inconel wrap. I think that recirc pipe a finger’s width from the radiator in particular is contributing to elevated coolant temps, but the whole manifold gets really hot. Going to bite the bullet and do the heat containment right. |

Evoscan logs would be a good starting place.

Same. Rear diff noise is at the “Is your car broken?” level and has been for several years.
I then sent it to TRE, and it still does the same. So now, I'm worry free and enjoy the "race car" noises LOL |

back home and settled. for whatever reason the throttle lag seems to have dissipated for the most part? bizarre. still thinking about ordering a new map sensor though, just in case.
ended up 5th at the event. halka's wrx destroyed everyone, 2.5s on the field to 2nd place, which was andy hollis in his k24 crx. charles miller's evo followed 3 tenths after that, and i was about 6 tenths off of that evo, with an sti in between. from what i can tell, i'm down on power to the rest of the field. down about 65whp to halka, not sure about the others. i'm likely also up on weight, given i haven't done much weight reduction modifications. likely up next for me is a half cage, and acd relocation and battery relocation to the trunk, which never got completed. aside from that, there's not a whole lot left to do on the car. a lot of marginal upgrades for extremely high cost that i'm really wanting to do. fwiw - the brake ducting (the 2" version) really, really helped keeping the pedal firm throughout the 90 degree sessions, zero fade. really happy with them, and kind of kicking myself for not having done it earlier |

i'm still waiting for those rules to shake out. they also said the limit is 40-41 in/min for any turbo - which is the stock 9 turbo that i already have. they also specify certain turbos as allowed, but I don't think they considered that different turbos flow different rates for different models. not very well written rules IMO

Looks like torque solutions makes rear diff ear mounts now. Was debating making my own version to offer but there's no way I'd be able to contest a $300 price point. Will likely grab myself a pair in the future.
