Touch Up Paint
Got a stick of T.U.P.
It includes both the pigment AND clear coat. Code Code: X42 (Labrador/Tarmac Black Pearl B/C) SKU: MZ313375 https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6...621_110256.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E...621_110351.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-8...621_110420.jpg |
that's nice to know that they have the clear coat too! how much are they and did you have to go through the dealership or did you get it cheaper online?

It was covered under warranty because I found a paint imperfection near the rear spoiler. |

Finally decided on my bike rack, I know this is the set up a lot here have and it did help in me making the decision to go this way, it also worked out by far the cheapest option.
Curt hitch and then an Allen 3 bike rack, under $180 isn't bad at all. I'll get a hitch mount ski rack come winter too. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2898/...1c5e1f67_c.jpg https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2926/...a070307a_c.jpg |

Got my second oil change & tire rotation today at 10,1xx miles. I decided to screw the stealership and took the quick lube route. I was able to watch the entire process from proper draining, using an actual filter wrench to checking the oil levels with engine running after filling. Everything was done properly and I have no complaints at all. In and out in under 30 minutes is much better than waiting 2 hours at the dealer along with a rip off.
The only thing I didn't like is 0w-20 only comes in synthetic which jacks up the oil price :( I have crosschecked the prices of the parts online and it's pretty on par except the extra $12 on the oil filter, but that's okay because they have to add in labor somewhere. Also 4 wheel tire rotations are a pain to do so I don't mind paying $20 for it. I even got a military discount and every oil change comes with a free HAND wash which they also run next door which is also $12, so it makes the value of the entire package even more worth while. I'm guessing their profits come from buying in bulk and tire rotations, because if I were to do this alone, it would only be a couple bucks cheaper and a hell lot longer! https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1404355675https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1404355675https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...1&d=1404355675 As for warranty worries, I'm making a mental note to keep track of all my service records and taking pictures of them every time. |

Outlander Sport - Cabin Filter refresh
With our expected Texas summer heatwave of 101° (officially coming this week)**...
Time to make sure the cabin filter is refreshed - to insure maximum Cold A/C circulation! Actual installation time is about 2 minutes tops. Took me a tad longer since I had to take photos :D https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7...706_165707.jpg Out goes the old (It doesn't look too dirty actually. But, with a whole past summer of road construction dust and ragweed & other pollens.. might as well throw it out.) https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-d...706_170024.jpg In goes the new. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-o...706_170109.jpg Which comes with two foam seals, that you need to install manually. Nice additions too because it does seal the filter in its housing better than the stock filter (which kinds of shimmys around. I'm sure pollen gets blown right by it too.) https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-b...706_170220.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--...706_170430.jpg ** It showed 102° on my dash today, so I'm sure it'll be a Lot hotter come later this week. |
