Those look interesting.

There are some track days at a new track opening in March, but alas I still haven't worked on the car to get it ready. This past weekend the EVO was really feeling left out as I was using the engine hoist directly next to it, but it got no love.

Ordered some new turbo manifold studs and inconel nuts from Full-Race, first step in getting the car ready for this year.

The blue from my wheels has migrated to other projects.

Source of the cad components

Ho Jid: Do you mind sharing the sources of the components of the cad mills, and which parts did you had to build yourself? Thanks

Starting to feel serious nudges from my car to actually work on it. Got the studs from Full-Race and have assembled a mental list of what needs to be done in order to be ready for this season at the track. I think it's something like this:

- Replace turbo-to-manifold studs.
- Safety wire waste gate bolts.
- Maybe recirculate the wastegate back into the main exhaust so my car is not as loud and can run on Monday and Tuesday at the local track.
- Reinstall Accusump in passenger side of cab.
- Change all the fluids.
- Get a new air filter to replace the one I zip tied together at the track last year. Maybe build a new intake pipe and switch to Speed Density.

March will be here soon and I normally try and have the car ready to hit the track by the end of the Month. I'm gonna need to take a break from the CNC project and give the EVO some love.

There's a whole thread on my Mill project here: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/bencht...sion_rf45.html

I decided I have no time for building new intakes and switching to Speed Density right now, the milling machine project is too much of a time sink. THUS, I ordered a MAF adapter and a couple filters from MAP to get me back to non-ghetto riggin.

I think I'm going to bail on trying to recirc the wastegate as well for the same "no-time" reason. Unless I get crazy when the turbo and everything is sitting on the bench near the welder getting new hardware. So probably another year of people coming up at the track saying "why is your car so freakin loud", and "holy crap how much power is that thing making (based on how loud it is)".

I received a new MAF adapter and a Perrin foam filter as well as a blue Vibrant cone filter. Not sure which filter I'll run, but I got both to have a back-up and try them out.

Now I just need to plan for time to rip in and swap all the fluids and fix the turbo mounting stuff.

I've also decided I need another set of NT03's. So I'm getting rid of my old 17x9's that I used for street tires. Likely buy a new set of NT03's since I don't see any good used ones out there right now. I thought about getting a different wheel, but the car is really setup well for the +40 NT03's and I didn't want to play with different spacers and crap for a wheel with slightly different offsets and fitment. I'm thinking to powder coat the new ones red. Plan is to get some tires with some actual tread on them like R888's so I have something for the rain. I avoided track days with a chance of rain last year because I only had the Continental slicks for race tires.

We have a brand new track in the Northwest so I need to get ready to go hit it up.

Here's video of one of the other local guys out there this past weekend.

Thats TurboTim's car in the video. He posted a review of the track in the Motorsports section.

They are building a drag strip, grooming the runout on the roadcourse, finishing the paddock and building garages then some facilities of some sort. Should be the real deal.

R888's are not good in the rain, i've personally seen that!
Unless you're going to get the wet version, or cut some extra blocks into them.
The Nitto INVO or NT05 are a much better wet tyre
The NT01's are amazing straight out of the pits, but will still suffer aqua-planing problems because of the treadblock pattern, but will outgrip both the INVO and NT05 for "damp" conditions

Well I've got boxes pilling up full of NT03's in my living room. I'm gonna talk with the tire guys on Monday and try and grab something to use in the rain. Hopefully I can get some time this weekend to work on the EVO. My daily driver needs some attention as well as the milling machine project.

I'll try and snap a picture of all the goodies that have been collecting...

Just ordered some of these Michelin Rain Tires (race tires), so I don't fear wet track days early season. Got a killer deal on them two new and two "full tread" used".

My pile of parts. 2nd set of NT03's, Michelin wets, air filters, HANS device, etc.

CNC Milling machine almost ready in it's 1st phase still using the stock gear-drive head while I build the 8K rpm belt drive spindle with it under CNC control.
