I'm always thinking about quieting down the car - I've got a cat (200cel mil.spec), which goes to a very decent sized muffler, im going to add a vibrant ultra quiet resonator to see if that does anything, hopefully without going to a mini muffler. I ran the dual muffler setup on my old car (muffler instead of cat, full size muffler) and it seemed fairly decent
I tuned for the 200 cell, the 100 cell mil.spec and a straightpipe all with the vibrant resonator inline. A few of my observations:
1.) Straightpipe did NOT cause an exponential increase in sound. My 5 year old was still fine.
2.) Straight pipe DID allow a lot more timing and less fuel than 100 cell cat. It was shocking how far the knock threshold moved. This was all on Mobil 93.

I remember when mine was in the shop, "Back in the day!" From August thru March
and you did the final tune in April. You are going through more detail...cost too....
then I did. Looks great. Wish I still had my toy....sometimes.

Yeah go get some zen.

I've officially lost patience. I have no idea why this damn thing has taken nine months to date.

Shop told me eight weeks ago that it would be two more weeks. Every question since then around time line hasn't clearly been answered or just danced around.

I'm actually not sure what to do now... ughhhhh.

That sucks to hear man. Are they close by? Would going down there and applying a bit more pressure possibly help?

I'm sure you've spent a boat load a cash on labor if they're wiring up all of your datalogging stuff. Doesn't make sense why it would get so delayed.

They aren't. I'm wiring everything up whenever I get the car back.

Disassembly/reassembly of engine (sleeved built block, upgraded oil pan, kelford cams, DF cam phaser)
Turbo kit installation (turbo, manifold, downpipe, intake)
MAP Oil cooler installation
Firewall heatshield installation
Master Cylinder installation
Clutch installation
Welding in one mini muffler in the catback

^ That's the list. How that is taking nine months I have no idea. I've lost patience and moving into pissed off.

Dude, that's ridiculous. That's like 1-2 weeks of work, and then add machine shop time in between.

Not finished yet. It will be finished when it's sitting in my driveway...

Swap those puppies for some solid T-bolt stainless clamps

They are ABA clamps. I prefer them over T-Bolts for even clamping and much smaller size.

Woops. So much for attempting to be a smarty pants.

On a different note, my MR is my daily so I have been considering just buying an OEM shortblock and building it on the side. I do all my work, but measuring and filing ring gaps and putting a block together is probably where I should draw the line (since I have done it ZERO times ).

What are the shops out there to trust for a 4b11 build these days ?
Two gigantic names that come to mind: AMS, Buschur ?
How did you come to use the shop your using?
