My Evo 8 daily | first non-euro car :P
Hey guys,
Recently picked up a 2003 Apex Silver Evo 8 to take over as my spirited daily driver. It's pretty much bone stock except for a 3" turboback & H&R springs. Plans so far are to restore / clean it up and add some tasteful mods - sorta going for OEM+.
Issues that I am planning to fix asap:
- Install revised heater gears/cable
- Install new VC gasket / refinish VC
- Respray hood/spoiler (clearcoat )
Mods I have lined up:
- Oil, boost, wideband gauges
- Refinish brakes
- Buschur shifter base / underhood bushings
- Tune
I have a 05 GTI and 93 UrS4 so this car is a lot different for me, but I love it already. Here are some pics of my UrS4:
And now pics of the Evo as it stands today
Thanks for looking

Appreciate it. It's a GT3071r. Pretty fun car and it sounds ridiculous haha.
Thanks man! Yeah the Evo previously had NT03s on it, not sure if the PO was running spacers in the front but I'm guessing so.

Installed the Buschur shifter base / underhood bushings. I must say I am very, very happy with the new feel. Before the bushings, I always felt like the shifting was slightly sloppy until the car came up to temperature. Feels much more precise at all times now.
Also put in the revised heater box gears and cable. It's nice to be able to turn the HVAC knobs now
And finally, the hardest install, getting the badge lined up
Blacked out the Mitsubishi badge as well

Thanks bud!
It's been a while - few small updates
Started with a leaky valve cover gasket and chipping paint on the valve cover
Took it off, stock cams & tb
Highly engineered organization system
Ended up with a flat black VC & new gasket. It's sorta boring IMO but I've got a spare VC that I'll get powdercoated a cool color in the future
Faded Enkei logos
Much better
Needed to clear up some space for a catch can, decided to remove the IC sprayer
Bye bye
Hello
Also got VII (Depo ) tails, have to get some good pics of them soon

Yeah, it's Allstar and you an get it off . I'm very happy with it for the price. Amazing quality + it's baffled (unlike cheap eBay ones).
Thanks! Haha nowadays the Evo is taking up all of my time, poor urS4. Yeah man I'd be down for sure, I'm in Dunwoody.

Updates!
Depo VII tails & Carbign Craft exhaust heat shield:
ETS LICP:
Smoked the headlights, before:
During:
After:
I'm pretty pleased with how they came out, but I would love to take out some additional pitting on the lenses (polished them but didn't start with a low enough grit).
Headlights + a DL PU front lip:
What's next:
- Buschur bullet CB (thermal r&d cb on it is too quiet for me)
- 17x9 et28 BBS RX233 powdercoated black - I'm excited about these
