Ok, I must admit this is pretty dope. Custom Inconel shielding on a Works O2 housing that has already been ceramic coated. Notice the holes on the bosses, so the OEM heatshield can go over this.

Thanks razorlab for getting this done on his car. I would have missed it if not for his thread.

Did you hand the car off to Luke this weekend?

No, because I still need to pick up my engine parts from Aby. I am also thinking of sending my car down to Muellerized to have my shocks/struts get rebuilt before I ship it up to English. That way, I won't have to be there when it gets picked up and I won't have to drive from Portland to LA with a blown front left strut when my car gets finished

A few reasons.

One is that I am going to get my car tuned with the FitTronic module. There are only a few places who tune with that. Aaron and English Racing are one of those places.

The second is I'm super-picky about who touches my car. It's one of the reasons I drove up to GST Motorsports 10 years ago to have razorlab tune my car with ECUboost. It was a **** show in SoCal, where people claimed ECUboost was heresy and wouldn't/didn't work, wasn't needed, etc. All those people have now STFU because it's the standard for Evo tuning. I was the first one in SoCal to run ECUboost.

Third, there are a lot of people who claim to be able to tune speed density. And many of the tunes suck. Just ask letsgetitdone about his previous speed density tune.

There are places to get tuned in SoCal. I'd recommend a few shops if asked. But my personal preference, for my personal car is English Racing.

Hope that answers your question

Parts continue to trickle in. This is a ported FP exhaust manifold with Cerakote on it. Now there's an extra layer of heat control

Oh, and the OEM heatshield will still fit over it, which is great since I live in California.

ATP does really, really good work. While this isn't a "cheap" option, the fit and finish is top notch.

Also, I may have found a local engine builder I trust. Getting the details hammered out. If that happens, it's money I can put into getting the suspension rebuilt instead of shipping to English. English will be tuning the car regardless, except for the break-in tune.

You did get me interested, that's for sure. I have a custom PTP turbo blanket for the FP Red. I was going to use turbo wrap for the rest, but the 02 housing had that gap. Plus, the inconel can fit under the OEM heatshields which is a bonus in my book living where we do

Ok, it's the little things. And this thing may be my new favorite mod/part. Was surfing through the part out section, and stumbled on this. Apparently Evo Dave got a custom serpentine belt idler pulley made with a ceramic bearing. Had no idea. But now I have one too. That makes this pulley, and aluminum alternator and water pump pulley, and an aluminum fluidampr for my car

Also, have a quote out for a local engine builder that Aby said would be reliable. Like I said before, wanted to send it up to English Racing, but the shipping budget/cost can be used to rebuild my Motons. I should know in a week what the deal is. English is still an option, and they will be doing the E85 tune on my car regardless. If the quote comes back and is reasonable, the car will be out of my hands in the next month

Ok, I haven't died people. And I haven't sold the car.

So, the engine is ACTUALLY being assembled. Kinda. Engine builder hit a few snags. First, one of the main bearings from WPC got buggered up. So I have to order new ones. And the ACL balance shaft bearings are ovalized and not round, so I am ordering new OEM ones and sending to WPC.
