2012 evo mr resurrection (burn)
2012 evo mr resurrection (burn)
Hey guys and gals, so this is my very first post and very first evo. No I'm not completely nuts
but picked this hot mess up last summer from Minnesota insurance auction as an engine fire (quite obviuosly). Finally got around to buying a hard hit (right side blue 2014 Mr) that is pretty much beyond repair. The plan is to strip this ww burn, sand blast, probably replace radiator support and basically rebuild her to brand new condition.
In case you are wondering 1) yes I have done this numerous times (as a hobby), 2) yes I will take a zillion pics from start to finish and post the build process on here once we (the shop I use) starts the task which should be Saturday or Monday coming up. It is extremely exciting to see these basket cases come back to life. Btw I am a very laid back dude and would love to answer any questions one might have if they are up for a similar task. I never had one of these but heard nothing but praise from others who had them. I currently drive a 2012 ctsv wagon which was a previous burn, and recently sold my 2013 grand cherokee srt8 which too was a burn lol.
I have had 2 late model sti's which were burns and have a 3rd (2013) waiting in line once the mr comes from under the knife. Here are some pics as it stands, these were taken at my job where I had it parked a few weeks ago before I got fired lol, It is now at the shop.

Motor and trans are probably a write off. Block is not cracked but definitely locked up. Probably just the t case survived.

Hey guys just following up. As usual the shop is running a bit behind and I got pushed back about a week. Looking like friday or Saturday (coming up) as a tentative start date! I promise to keep you all informed
Ok so here we go as I promised! Step one = Strip, strip, strip, and um strip. Monday is step 2 which I do myself (complete sand blasting woo hoo! (Look for pics Tuesday). Also dropped off the front recaro's to Baton's in Houston for complete recover (I forgot to snap pics) but they were beyond awful.
