Car is so clean and coming together nicely. Gonna be great when you finally get to take it out.

Well ive now got manual windows all around. Just missing 1 plastic crank. Same weight savings in the front as the back for just regulators which is about 1 lb per door.. Also pulled the wire harness for each door which was almost an additional 4lbs. So grand total about 8lbs shaved. And the doors look much cleaner than before. Ill take it.

Well cant leave well enough alone... Thinned down wiring going from junction pannels at driver/pass foot well all the way to the trunk. Removed all the SRS stuff, trunk lights/sensors, speaker wires, and charcoal canister wires etc. Left only exterior lights and the section going to fuel system.
Then I decided to work on the cabin dash section. But it was too much with it in the car. So I removed it. Lots of work to do depinning and deleting wires to unused systems. Leaving exterior lighting, ABS, ACD, instrument cluster, and essential systems intact. Then at some point move to engine bay harness. Would ideally like to bring the engine bay fuse panel into the cabin. Not sure how much of this I can stomach. The time cost to benefit ratio is horrible. I would at least like to remove all the unused, hot wires from the harness. And loose weight in doing so.
Before removing harness...
After removing harness and column
Harness ready to be thinned down.

So here I have deleted all the unused systems simply by following the connectors back into the harness and depinning where they end up. I've also spent an ungodly amount of time learning to read the service manual/wiring diagram. Its not that hard to interpret if you familiarize yourself with the markings and their meanings. Way to many hours to just get this far...
So far in removing what I could for radio, HVAC, SRS, keyless entry, power windows/doors, I've shaved about 10lbs of wiring and plastic. This includes the door harnesses I previously removed when I converted to manual windows. It also includes wiring from floor harnesses running to the rear of the car for SRS, charcoal canister, door sensors, keyless entry etc
Work in progress: No radio, HVAC, SRS.
Unused wiring and connectors
Door harnesses and misc plastics

I do want to install the dash all hollowed out etc. So not sure which brackets I can cut off.
I just wiped it down and shot it with krylon behind my garage. So after I cut junk off I'll just hit it again lol
Couldn't stand the rust, however minor surface rust.
