Lol not everyone has the luxury of driving down the street to pick up hardware Austin

Personally, I'm pretty sure their closest disty to myself is in NJ so yeah I just pay for shipping. That being said for the small stuff the shipping costs are very reasonably and I get things 1 day after ordering which is pretty sweet.

Are you going to replace the roof with an aluminum one? From my research it looks like the SE roof is the cheaper than the MR roof. Both are aluminum from what I remember.

Yes, sir already pickup up an AL roof skin. And yeah there are a few different part numbers depending on SE vs MR vs RS but they are all identical parts so the pricing is kinda funny. That being said the roof panels are no longer available so forget about picking and choosing the cheapest part number, take what you can get, if you're lucky enough to find one.

Rollbar is done. The goal was to come up with a safe means to mount harnesses and run fixed buckets. Originally I was just gunna do the AP if I could source 2nd hand but once factoring in purchasing new freight etc the cost to have something custom built was almost the same. Anyway I snapped some pics last night but it was late had to unload trailer and ran out of daylight very quickly so photos are kinda dark but gives you an idea of what it looks like.

Looks stout Eric. Wait till ya drive w/it. Even my bolt in AP gave me a noticeable chassis stiffening sense right away

Like how you blew threw that rear OEM X-brace (coming through!!!!)

Thanks Joe! Of course that bar had to end up right through that X-brace bc when are things ever easy haha!

And yeah I recall you mentioning the added stiffness was noticeable on your AP unit. I almost bought one on two separate occasions then dragged my feet and missed out. Oh well...

I cant wait to drive the car but its been so long at this point Im not sure I even remember what is is supposed to feel like I'm tempted to take it for a rip down the street with no roof or glass bc how often do you have an opp to drive a vert evo. But I think between the noise and current appearance I'll get myself into trouble with the local PD so I'll pass.

About 6 months ago I picked up a wing and trunk setup from Evolutionary. Just installed it, trunk fit like crap, to be expected, but the wing is pretty cool, lol! Starting to really look the part...

In other news I towed the car to the body shop yesterday for some paint for the cage and the roof. I was going to install the roof myself but just seemed to make more sense to have them paint and install. Plus at this point Im just anxious as ever to get back out there.

Should by done by next weekend then its get glass back in there, get interior back together, finish seat brackets, mount harnesses, suspension overhaul, brakes, drivetrain fluids, alignment then some tuning and shes ready to roll! So close and yet so far away.

Eric. Yeah, that is a WING ("thats not a Knife" / haha)

But, how is that mid-mounting point going to work w/out too much trunk deflection?

Just curious

Joe- great question! I should have taken a picture of the underside of the trunk but that'll have to wait until I get the car back. Essentially, as mentioned I purchased the wing and trunk setup from Evolutionary (Jarrod) so hes gone through the process of modifying and testing it. What he did was start off with a cheap CF trunk (hence terrible fitment) think its a Seibon or something like that, nothing special basic CF evo trunk, which is basically just fiberglass with top layer of carbon. Then he cut out the internal structure braced it and laid in some AL angle which is what the trunk bolts into. Those pieces of AL are riveted to the trunk and then he laid a couple more layers of CF on the inside of the trunk so its encased in CF if that makes sense.
