Turns out, previous owner had carbon fiber trunk and removed a torsion bar. Then swapped trunks with his evo 8 when selling this roller. That's why it wasn't aligned properly. I assumed the worst (rear ended) and was wrong.

I'm going to sell this black evo. The interior is in pristine condition.

Can I trust Mitsubishi to properly torque shortblock together? Or do I need to check?

To expand on that, the OEM rod bolts are torque to yield, so there isn't a final torque value to even check them with. And IIRC the factory main bolts are the same. You torque to a low value, than and additional 90* or something like that.

I recall something like that for the head bolts. Haven't paid attention to the rod or main bolts. I just want to make sure everything is done and triple checked before I put it together. I don't have any time to redo anything, so I'm hoping that being extra careful on assembly will save me on having to pull apart later. Fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed!!
Well, maybe not eyes since that can cause problems during assembly. Lol
Thanks Sean!

That's from me moving it into the house.
I wonder what brand assembly lube they use. It looks a lot like Redline.

I only ordered OEM because the poll I did showed that most people prefer virgin blocks. This is as virgin as they can get. These things add up fast from Mitsubishi!
