FS: IL: CLEAN 2003 RR Evo VIII. Clean Clean Clean.
Car is for sale. I have more to add, but for now, just wanted to get the listing up. Will add more information later and am happy to answer any questions in the meantime.
MODS
2003, 69XXX miles
AMS Intake (Vibrant/K&N)
AMS Downpipe, Resonated Test Pipe
Megan Catback Exhaust, O2 Housing
Precision 880cc injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump
ETS LICP, FMIC
Evo IX BOV
Forge MBC
Exedy Twin HD Clutch (Less than 500 miles)
GSC S1 Cams
Skunk2 Lowering springs
DEPO JDM Tails
XXR 527 Wheels
35% Tint
AEM Analog Wideband
Defi Boost Gauge
Original Trans and Transfercase. No issues, whining, grinding, etc. This trans actually shifts better (somehow) than the sheptrans I have in my white car.
Compression test was done a few months back. 155+/- 1psi in all four cylinders.
Very clean car. Notice also how the pinch welds in the underbody picture show no damage.
$18,500.
There were ~4500 2003 Evo VIII's brought to the US. Many have been crashed. Many have been made into race cars. Most have been molested, used and abused. Pick up this clean example!

Carfax shows an accident to the right rear. Do you know what happened?
"
Accident / Damage reported

Illinois
Damage Report
Accident reported
Involving right rear impact
"
Also, the front and rear bumper covers are missing the VIN stickers. Were they re-painted and painted over or replaced?

I do know what happened, in fact I have documentation.
HERE IS THE COPY OF THE CARFAX INDICATING WHAT YOU MENTION
HERE IS THE 'CRASH' THAT WAS REPORTED IN THE RIGHT REAR. ALL SUPERFICIAL.
YOU MENTION THE FRONT BUMPER MISSING THE VIN. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED FROM THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE WHICH OCCURED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REAR DAMAGE
SOMETHING ALSO WAS HIT IN THE FRONT AND WARRANTED REPLACEMENT OF THE FMIC AND FRONT LIP, ALSO A REPAINT OF THE BUMPER.
HOPE THIS HELPS! AS YOU CAN SEE, THE CAR HAS NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR REPAIRS.

Eh it wasnt bad on Sunday. Best pass 9.11@161. I Cut a couple 1.46 60fts which wasnt bad so late in the day but hit a brick wall in second gear twice. It just straight locked me out. Problem is im spinning so much that im trying to slam 2nd gear basically at rev limiter which is a little over 9k RPM. Stock transmissions dont like that lol. I need a dogbox to do that. I am also going to try to fix the boost selenoid so i can run boost by gear. Somwhere in the wiring their is an issue. I think half the the boost in first gear wont be so violent and it might help out. Will see what happens. Hopefully i can get out 1 more time before the season comes to an end.

How often do you find yourself getting locked out or finding resistance when shifting? I'm switching from the exedy twin to the QM. Hoping it will resolve all of my related issues in that department.
I wonder how a ignition cut NLTS might help your issue.

Not bad at all! Lockout is so frustrating.

With a Syncro based transmission i would say 2 track outings is all its good for. But it really just depends on how many passes you make, burn out etc ya know. Especially with high HP EVO's. I remember back when my car was a low 10 second/high 9 second car and the clutch/trans would last a lot longer. Your trans/clutch will last a lot longer then mine.
You will like the QM 2 times better then the Exedy twin. Espcially for launching and high RPM shifting. For me, it just doesnt last that long. I would say 15 passes or so is all its good for. When we pulled the trans before the shootout, the syncros didnt look to bad, it was just the clutch that was worn out a lot. I just hate having lock out issues. But thats all part of it with these syncros trannys.

So if DB gets the auto trans dialed in, is that a consideration for you? Or would you rather keep it more fun and have a dog box?
Also, have you ever considered the tilton carbon? $$$
Thanks Eric!
