FS/FT: (IA) 03 Evo 8 with low miles
Price: $18,000
Year: 2003
Make: Mitsubishi
Model: Lancer Evolution
Mileage: 3,600
Location: West Des Moines, IA 50265
Does it run?: Yes! though the master brake cylinder needs to be bled and the tune verified.
VIN: JA3AH86F03U111425
Looking to sell or trade my unfinished tuner car project.
Bought this car as a roller in Feb 2011 with a popped engine and have been working on it in bits and pieces since then. Time is a massive constraint since I work outside of the country and am only state-side twice a year in December and July. That means I get maybe a week worth of wrench turning before I have to stow it away until I get back in another 6 months. The car's story is that a previous owner had national level SSCA aspirations so the car was stripped down to practically nothing at one point and I've been gradually putting it back into operable condition. All the parts needed to finish it will be included, minus perhaps some fluids.
Parts which will need to be glued or screwed back on and tightened up consist of the following:
-Wide body body side panels (necessary because a previous owner mutilated the front fenders, rear quarter panel and stock side skirts with a Sawzall to make room for super wide wheel/tire combo). Pics here so you can get a sense of what they will look like.
Rear Fender Blisters, Front Fenders, Front bumper fascia, and side skirts
-AC system recharging (I haven't bought the oil and substance for this yet)
-Gear and engine oils
-Brake fluid fill and bleed
-Fuel? Probably.
The car will have:
-a freshly rebuilt Jack's Transmission t-case, trans and engine.
-an early AMS gt35r kit. there's no AMS stamp on the manifold, but it is their kit
-AEM 1213 ECU and AEM twin fire ignition (tune by Mellon, setup for speed density)
-Supporting mods like 1000cc injectors, full 3" exhaust, FMIC, Greddy type S bov, HKS 280 cams, ACT 2600 HD clutch kit with lightweight aluminum flywheel
-New front and rear DBA brake rotors with new Hawk HPS pads, ss brake lines
-stock suspension components with the exception of front sway bar bushings and perrin rear sway bar end links
-Clean, clear title, no lein
-18" SSR 5 spoke wheels on usable Advan tires
-Just a few thousand miles on the pristine chassis.

Bump, still available for sale. I've updated the main post as the car now runs, thanks to some hard work on my part during the coldest part of December.
I'll be back in the area later this month and will finally get a chance to bleed the brakes, verify the tune and see this thing on the road for the first time in over a decade.

Thanks for the interest.
I should have indicated that for a trade, I'd need a car that is AWD.
Ideal candidates would be a less modified Evo, Suby WRX/STi, Audi A6/A4 or BMW 328/330/335xi or something like those.
I can come in with cash on my end for the right car.
