MD: 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII SSL Apex Silver - 125kmi BBK Full $11,000
I’m the third owner of the car, currently sitting at 125k miles. I purchased her in July 2008 with about 38k. It’s no longer a daily driver, but I do take it out once or twice a week around the neighborhood just to drive it. This has the SSL package which includes factory HID headlights, Infinity Stereo system, Leather Recaro Seats & Sunroof.
All scheduled maintenance is up to date, including the “60k service” done at a little over 80k by CBRD, replacing the timing/balance belt (gates belts), water pump, pulleys & tensioner in August 2012. The majority of the performance parts were installed at CBRD at this time: BBK turbo, GSC S1 cams, Gauges, Grimmspeed EBCS, Megan o2 housing, STM one piece clutch line & tune. They also replaced the head gasket, which was found to have been leaking, slightly. I use all Amsoil fluids and have been since the BBK installation (engine oil, transmission, tcase & brake/clutch fluid), prior to that the car was on Mobile 1. The car is tuned at 25 PSI on CBRD’s Dyno making 356whp/308wtq.
In August 2015, I needed a new clutch so I decided to have the transmission and tcase rebuilt (nothing was wrong with them, just wanted peace of mind). Jacks Transmission rebuilt the transmission & tcase (additionally installing an OEM LSD & brand new OEM ring & pinion) at 110k. A new Exedy single HD went in with an OEM Flywheel, all pulled & installed at CBRD.
I’m selling the car because I’ve started a family, cliché I know, but it’s true. While I love driving her, it’s the best thing to do. The car is pretty clean for being over 12 years old. There are a few rock chips on the front bumper and lip dinged here and there, but nothing not expected from an aging car. The car has never been smoked in during my ownership and the paint still shines after every wash -

The car isn’t without its issues (aside from the Brembo fade & Spoiler deck peeling). The heat doesn’t seem to be working. I had just flushed the radiator and the fluid was dirty. The heater core could use a flush next. The front passenger strut makes a clunking noise. I’m thinking it’s blown. I’ve been driving it that way for quite some time (going on two years?) and it hasn’t given me an issue other than being an annoyance. I was in the market for a set of coilovers but opted to just sell her instead of continuing the racecar life. When tuning the car, CBRD noted the biss screw in the TB was stripped and wasn’t able to be adjusted. They warned me that it may act like it wanted to stall in colder weather (which it does, sometimes) and that they tuned it to prevent it from actually stalling. CBRD recommended just buying a new TB (which I did and will include! – see below). The check engine light is on/off from the TPS sensor p0121 - also included!
As an incentive to the potential new owner, I will include my last round of mods and complete brake job I intended on doing (which it’s about due for). I have a new FMIC from VRSF (3.5’’ to brand match the LICP & UICP), new Full Blown 70mm Throttle Body (WITH NEW TPS as I've been getting a check engine light lately because it-low voltage), and a new Curt Brown Racing 70mm OEM Ported Intake Manifold to match up. A set of F&R Centric Premium Rotors with F&R Centric PosiQuiet Brake Pads & F&R Goodridge SS Brake Lines, and Mishimoto black radiator hoses all BNIB (all total about $1500 value). I will also include the Greddy LICP (with turbo j-pipe) that went with the Spec V FMIC, currently on the car.
Title is clean and in-hand. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few things, but if anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
