AST 5100 w/ springs & Vorschlag camber plates
Hey guys,
Im finally getting around to posting my set of ATS 5100s up for sale. I picked these up used a couple years ago with low miles and haven't put that many myself. Since my car is 90% autocross and 10% street car, Ive put maybe 5k miles in 2+ years on these. Total these have 10-15k miles.
For the springs you can have your choice of 550, 700, 900, and I think I even have some 8k and 10ks around in 2.5" that just need a spacer (I have one set of spacers too). I personally ran 700/900 for a while, Tried 900/900 but it was to much but the balance was good, then dropped back to 700/700 and thats what I still run on the new Ohlin setup.
Ive had good luck running tender springs (not 0 rate helper springs) with a moderate rate and long travel. I use these cause the high main spring rates we run end up having very little compression travel under static loads so they unload quickly in roll, bump, or uneven surfaces. The tenders help to keep a load on the swaybar and try pushing the wheel just a bit further to help with tri-podding and smooth out that transition from unloaded to loaded.
These also have the completely B.A. vorschlag camber plates. I tried to make these work on the ohlins but it was a no-go so I guess they'll have to stay with the ASTs.
New these all cost:
$2600 - Bare AST 5100s
$60-75 (x4) - Hyperco Springs
$75 (x4) - Swift Assist springs
$440 - Vorschlag camber plates.
Thats upwards of $3600 new.
Im asking $2400 plus shipping on these plus my support on setup and getting things dialed in. If you're local, I can even work out installing, setting ride height on my "leveled" floor, and a Dallas J-spec alignment.

Thanks guys. Yeah, if someone is wanting to step up their game from cheap stuff or starting new, either way this will be amazing and was amazing for me.
I only switched to Ohlins cause I have suspension ADD and got them for a good deal. When holding them side by side I had a hard time deciding which I wanted to actually run but went for Ohlin just to try something new. If you have a hard time believing in my ADD, this is the 4th suspension the car has been on.

What's funny is AST and Ohlins are sister company's and share technology so there probably isn't going to be a big difference. AST's newest line got an upgrade from an Ohlins technology to make their setups have a wider use range IIRC.

Dallas,
I'm giving my Bilstein/GTWorx combo a couple more auto-x events before they get the boot. With all the new stuff I've put on I think I've found my limiting factor to be spring rates. I've always known they weren't going to cut it in SM but I wanted to give swaybars a shot before committing to new suspension. I wish you luck in selling them but am secretly hoping their new home will be on my Evo.
