Badev0's Holset HX40 600HP turbo

I am upgrading to a larger turbo so I no longer need this one. I've had it on for more then a year. Zero shaft play and no burning of oil. Made over 600whp @ 34lbs of boost on E85, best trap of 139MPH (10.25@139) with the stock ECU and MAF. This is truly one bad ass turbo that I will miss. If anyone isn't very familiar with these turbo's, they are produced for large diesel engines as well as semi trucks designed to be reliable @ 40+lbs of boost on a daily basis.

Holset HX40 - 7 blade version
Bullseye Power T3 .70a/r Turbine housing - 3" v-band out
Compressor cover: 4" anti-surge inlet, 2.5" out
60mm compressor inducer/64mm turbine (For comparison sake, think of it as a PTE 6064 - not a real turbo, reference only)
69lbs/min capable

Asking $690 shipped/paypal'd. I don't think you can find a turbo at this price for what its capable of and proven to do {thumbup} This will bolt up like any T3 based turbo such as a FP, PTE, or Garrett turbo.

Really disapointed to see you get rid of this setup.

I'm sure a lot of people will be. I will miss it. I just know it wont be able to put me in the mid 9s on stock block unless I upgraded a few other things on the car that I won't have the funds to do (different cams, larger intake such as the DI one, switch to SD, etc).

what oiling setup were you using on this? because ik in the dsm world they have problems with that. and what was your oil pressure under boost in relation to this subject?

That's a good question and something that whoever buys this should take note of. I've done a lot a research and found the setup that works best. If your oiling setup isn't right, the turbo will have issues. I am not sure what my oil pressure is as I don't have a gauge.

With this oil setup that I ran, you'll find this turbo lasting you a very long time:

-4an feed from the oil filter housing using a inline .75 restrictor. I will include the restrictor in the sale :)
-10 an return line

-10 AN return I presume. GLWS!

Very nice!

If anyone is curious, they make these turbo in a 6 blade, 7 blade, and 8 blade. 8 blade offers the best spool but less top end. 6 blade offers best top end but later spool. 7 blade is the middle man which is what i'm selling.

cody92talon Apr 22, 2012 03:55 PM

alright thanks man. if thats the newer billet style hx 40 super 7blade its actually better flow than the 6 blade according to a big holset guru that rebuilds them in the dsm world

badev0 Apr 22, 2012 04:14 PM

Nice. Those billet ones are sick. This one isnt

fortyPSIrs Apr 22, 2012 05:22 PM

cody92talon Apr 22, 2012 05:24 PM

badev0 Apr 22, 2012 05:26 PM
