6speed transmission mount replacement

Hi guys,

I apologize for making this thread but I've done my search and couldn't come up with an answer.

I'm trying to replace my 6speed tranny mount with a Torque solutions mount and I've gotten the stock mount out but I can't drop the tranny low enough to put the TS mount in. The studs won't clear. I've removed the front mount and passenger side mount. Any tips or tricks to get this thing installed?

Do the studs have to be pulled?

Thanks!

You could unbolt the rear mount and that would drop it down even more.
I just changed my clutch and had more than enough room with the front, rear and driver side mounts out.

Those studs are for quick assembly at the factory. There is no other reason for them to be that long. When I had my transmission out for a clutch they got the Dremel - so much better.

I just completed this on my 6speed. In order to do the trans, I removed the bolt for the front and rear ones. The motor/trans pivoted on the passenger side one low enough to get the trans mount installed. Then had to mess around with a jack to get the front/rear ones. And last I did the passenger side.

The only time I've ever had to pull the mount, I also had the front and rear ones out. then the passenger side lets it pivot enough to clear.

As for cutting the studs: I see no reason not to as long as you can keep the threads clean and not get the metal crazy hot. They really do not need to be THAT long LOL.
