Id say it would a bit more then 4hp, but the Mivec will bump the Torque up 20%. I just realised, whats up with using the 8's bonnet (hood) again? Still got that little rise in the middle from where the fugly VIII nose thing was

AYC

AYC is good, but not indispensable by any means. The S-AYC system on my car puts up a fight when I intentionally attempt to powerslide the car doing autokhana-style turns. And the Japs do not 'swear by it.' Masaki Nishihara (5-time Japanese AutoKhana Champion) would have pulled the AYC wires if it wasn't my car, and the purpose-built Evos who run autokhanas here have mechanical LSDs all round.

MIVEC

Would be a great addition if you do not intend to tune the car. But to me its an additional parameter (read:complication) for EMS tuning especially for forced-induction motors. Ever wondered why TurboXS took so long to release their UTEC for the STI? Yes, AVCS was a b1tch to hack. And here, many S14 and S15 owners actually swap out their heads for the S13 ones simply because the NVCS-equipped S14 / S15 head is a tuner's nightmare for high-horsepower applications.

That said, I've been informed that a Evo IX is due here in '2 weeks.' Watch this space.

To get the whole story, we'd have to see the entire dyno curve. It might only add 4 peak hp, but it other rpm ranges the gains could be more substantial - or just more power under the curve throughout.

Guys remember mitsu's way, although japan is getting mivec doesn't necessarily means that we will get it. They will most likely offer it as a different edition to maximize their profit. Thet may call it evo ralliart with the mivec engine. Let's all pray that it will not be the case.
