Just curious... with stock turbo and buschur stage 3, what could you safely redline your evo at in each gear with these valve springs, retainers, and head studs?

Also, can these be installed by just removing the valve cover?

the springs are not the limiting factor of the valvetrains "rev capability" the hydraulic lifter causes issues at higher revs.

To install them you need to remove the cams. You also need compressed air (to hold the valves closed with no valvesprings while you are changing tham) and an "On head valvespring compressor". I would recommend having a shop do the work unless you are a hardcore DIY'r.

I'm letting the alternates in by Friday... Meaning I will be sending out payment information late Thursday, early Friday morning. Once this happens, try to get paid up so I can place the order over the weekend people.

Anyone watching this thread wanting in, can PM me to be an alternate for this buy, or get in on the next one.

One person backed out... I've got one who may want his place. However, first come (paid), first serve.

The last time I did valvesprings on a car with the head still on the motor I just rotated the motor so that the cylinder that I was working on was at TDC. This way the valve will just rest on the piston top. I assume this works on the Evo too since the factory service manual talks about this. I feel more confident in this method than compressed air, plus not everyone has compressed air handy.

I can neither confirm nor deny where the valve would rest just by placing the piston at TDC. However, the thought makes my *** pucker since we are talking about a dished, forced induction piston rather than a domed NA piston. I think I'd be more comfortable with the "old rope trick". However, I used compressed air to install mine without pulling the head.
