Vishnu S.M.A.R.T. Dyno Day & Seminar at Tuning Technologies July 15, 16, & 17.
Just got home from the dyno. It was a a very hot and crazy day. The drive home from the dyno with my new S.M.A.R.T. system was great
. It was nice meeting everyone and special thanks to Shiv, Chris, and Alfred for all their hard work. I'll post my Stage 1 results tomorrow.
i ended up making 325hp/317tq on 91 octane, which the Stage 1++ and stock turbo with 10.5 hotside.
same as before the SMART got installed. But on 100 octane this time around, it made a bit less, hopefully due to the heat. it made about 340hp or so, and 330 tq.

How about comparing dyno graphs???? Did your SMART map make more power in any part of the graph????? or was it pretty much the same???
either way id like to see some charts!!!!!!!
Here is my 91 octane Stage 1 water/alcohol dyno run shown on chart # 1. Shiv first ran my car with a map I made up for my water/alcohol injection on 91 octane and I managed to make about 300 horsepower. Unfortunately I do not have any numbers to show what I would have made without my water/alcohol injection on 91 octane. As you can see Shiv squeezed out some more power. I think he ended up making about 310 horse power on one of the final runs. The funny thing is that he was perplexed about a dip in power that you could see in the dyno chart. He tried several more pulls and adjustments and he even had me disconnect my water/alcohol injection to see if that dip in power would go away. Nothing seemed to work. He thought that the only thing that could be getting in the way was the flash that I had done to eliminate fuel/boost cut and to extend my RPM limit. This particular flash was done by another Vender/Tuner. Well, Shiv installed his Xede flash over the previous flash and the dip in power disappeared. This was simply amazing to me. Shiv figured I was down by 20 horse power or more in this RPM range all this time. Do to the packed schedule I was not able to make any more dyno runs to squeeze out some more power on my 91 octane map after he fixed this problem. The rest of the runs were done on a mix of 91 octane and 100 octane with the injection system disconnected. You can see on the second dyno chart the difference in power that Shiv got by just eliminating my previous flash. I would like to thank Shiv again for making my car run so well and the new S.M.A.R.T. system is great.

Hi guys,
Still hot as hell here. Well over 105 degrees today (once again). Makes it nearly impossible for stock turbos to hold max boost. Race gas maps that would control the boost to 26psi under more normal conditions are only resulting in 23-24psi this weekend. Kinda sucks when going for the ***** out race gas tune.
As for SMART, it will not improve hp numbers during custom dyno tuning. But it will make sure that mapping changes in line with changes in conditions. As well as offering substantial improvements in safety and driveability. That's the whole idea behind it.
As for the White Rabbit, we didn't see the gains that we hoped to see. Much of this might have to do with the conditions. But then again, we didn't see much of a difference between the WR and the stock turbo. This does not mean that there isn't a difference. But we just have to find the application that does justice to the difference(s).
Oh well... back to work...

Can someone post some pics of their SMART install? Like where they mounted everything, and where they put the wideband O2 sensor at? Also, is the SMART kit plug and play or is there any splicing that is needed?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I just got back from TT and I have to agree with Shiv on the weather conditions, it was hot as hell. I just went to get my XEDE upgraded to V3 and I also got an XFlash. I had fun watching an EVO on the dyno who put down 328HP and I think 302FT/TQ, I'm not sure which turbo kit he had but the car was loud as hell. I didn't stay to see what the numbers were with the race gas. Thanks to everyone for making this happen!

Also, you guys keep talking about the heat and dyno numbers.
Isn't that what the correction factor is for, so the dyno corrects the numbers to what they would be in 72 degree weather or whatever....so it doesn't vary from a 40 degree dyno to a 110 degree dyno?
i understand the boost problem with the stock turbos....but it shouldn't hurt the pump gas numbers should it?

Personally I don't have a lot of faith in correction factors. The uncorrected numbers I've dynoed for my car have always made a lot more sense than with correction factors applied... What one really needs to look at for this particular dyno day is how the cars dynoed relative to each other. That should give a general idea to what certain mods did vs others. The numbers are simply not comparable to other days/dynos.

My Dyno Results
Here is my 91 octane dyno results and my BP109 race gas dyno results...
All results were with a cat and the stock turbo and 100 degree temperatures...
We were still able to get 355 HP and 333 torque on 91 octane and 365 HP and 350 torque on BP109 race gas.
I want to thank Shiv and TT for all their help. They are really great people and I am very happy with my results.
I am told that once I remove the cat I should get about another 20 HP. After that I need to research turbos as I have maxed out the stock turbo.

Hey,
I met several guys at the dyno days but don't know who you are with regards to your evoM name. would love to keep in touch but not sure who is who. Drop me a line a let me know your contact info so that I we can keep in touch.

Just wanted to thank Vishnu for all the help. The car pulls much smoother and stronger now, especially once I tried it in cooler weather.
It was fun hanging in the ACed office with Tom and all the guys. Chris and Alfred are really knowledgeable and experienced with all facets concerning the Evo, and they worked their butts off in brutal conditions.
I knew Shiv was a great tuner, but the man can drive. If you get a chance to take a test ride - do it! Let's just say he knows his way around the "Scandinavian flick"
