i have been told that you need to use the stock mesh from the evo 8 front bumper which is suppost to work.

I hope so, coz everytime I look at the IX front bumper diagrams, it seems to differ greatly from the VIII... especially the side inlets on the bumper... their shape is different from the VIII's, so I dunno if it will work... the main intercooler mesh on the VIII is larger than the smaller and more rectangular intercooler mesh on the IX....... i can only hope that someone who has done the conversion can shed some light on what I need and don't need for this front bumper.

Well... change of plans. Seeing how expensive the project would be, and the 2 nights of headaches that followed, I decided to take my bumper back to Veracom. $700+ for the bumper alone, + $260 for a front lip + over $420 in mesh grill accessories just wasn't making sense to me. I'd rather buy the complete bumper off of someone who was putting an aftermarket kit or something. But anyway, I plan to get a set of JDM MR headlights and quite possibly a Do-Luck lip or carbon fiber replica, instead... for now at least.

Nah, the Evo VIII mesh won't work with the IX bumper... that's pretty much what killed my project lol. JDM Evo MR headlights and Do Luck Replica front lip, here I come! LOL.

Hey everyone! So I decided to go to work late today because I felt like installing my JDM Evo MR headlights lol. It was a direct swap for the most part, with the exception of the fog lights... but I am extremely happy with the swap and how my car looks now. Looks even meaner in my opinion. After the installation, I aimed my beams to the lowest setting, so as not to blind oncoming traffic. This is without a doubt my favorite mod to date. I'm hoping to post pics as soon as I get the car washed, and hope that there's a Do-Luck front lip out there, new or used, waiting to be sold haha.
