Road Atlanta Hightlights give me your input... (Including GSC Supra footage)

32VCobra edited my vid, and just sent it to me from this weekends event at Road Atlanta. I ran in TT group, but didn't compete, because I didn't get my RA1's in time. Had I know Solo, my student who dominated HPDE1, was going to loan me his used ones, I would have entered.

Anyway, this is from the first session of the day, and I was running VERY conservative. It was open-passing, but alot of people out there don't have race experience, so I was very gentle in passing zone selection. I almost got clipped twice on Saturday, so I backed off. Also, I wasn't running it deep, because of an 'incident' with my brake fluid (boiled) on Saturday evening. Found out I had gotten moisture in the lines, and lost my brakes going into 10a at 145mph. So today, instead of braking at the 150, I was braking around 250.

Anyway, note below, it is about 120M. I thik the GSC catches me at 5:46, but HE IS THE ONLY THING, except a race prepped 95TT Porsche.

Road Atlanta Vid 2 (Playing with new Z06)

I should have a second vid later this week, which I was more aggressive.

I was shifting at 7k, except climbing the hill going to 12, which I would shift when the car would crest the hill, since I had to burp it there anyway.

You sure did. Riding in that thing was a bit sketchy. We lost brakes going into 10a and off-roaded a bit. Also getting on 2 wheels (big time) going over the curbing in 3 was enjoyable, haha.

Thanks again for the instruction, David! This was one of the most fun weekends I've had in a while, and I definately learned a good bit, and I can't wait to do it again, although in HPDE2 this time.

I'll see you at Roebling, although I will most likely be working. I am going to try to make CMP in July, though.

Now go paint your wheels black

Man, you need to, that Evo of yours is INSANE. By far one of the fastest 'stock' Evos I have ridden in, even hauling my fat butt.

I was driving the Porsche, it is a 993 TT but is FAR from race prepped. It is a customers daily driver with full leather interior, satelite radio, gps ect....

BTW,Nice job STF.........your car looked great on the track!

1. Road Atlanta is one of my favorites on XBOX. But man, the elevation changes are much more dramatic in "person". That's a great track.

2. Holy traffic batman. That would be seriously nerve racking. I get nervous with three car on the track. Pushing hard with that many "unknown" car around you is work.

3. It's difficult to tell how hard you drive on video... you can't feel the braking and G's. But with the traffic you seemed to stick to the line pretty well and get 'er done.

4. OVERALL - SWEETNESS. I love track footage. Hopefully I'll donate some of the first Miller Motorpark footage here in a month or so.
