Yeah, his rep proceeds him. I was going to refer to some of his earlier posts as proof but did not want to get into it. Sorry to hear your thread got sabotaged like that. Take care!

I installed the Apexi Power Intake, and now when I let off the gas I hear some extra sounds coming from the intake... sounds like a "wallop" or basically... well... sounds are hard to describe, but it is ONLY when I let off the gas. I can hear my BOV making its "psssh" sound when I let off, but now I also hear the "wallop" or more like a loud "thunk" sound right at the same time.

Do you guys have this? Or is this abnormal? Any ideas?

What pipe is everyone using with the apexi filter? I'm lookin to snag this, I just want to get the best combo.

So far I've found the filter for $119 shipped.

I kept my HKS filter, put a "Outerwears" filter cover over it, and made a heat shield to block of most of the heat and debris that comes up from under the car. No problems. Much cleaner too.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, I have a question to those of you who have the Apexi Power Intake. I was wondering what do you do with the filter as it gets dirtier, is it supposed to be cleaned or just replaced?

I just gave Apexi-USA a call and they told me that the filter element in this kit only lasts around 30,000 miles and can not be cleaned. Therefore, a replacement filter is necessary and the part number for that is "500-A021" and to order from Apexi-USA will cost $69. Not a bad deal IMO.

Good info. I briefly looked into the Apex'i intake a couple weeks ago but didn't see any replacement filters on vendor sites. I didn't like the idea of having to buy the whole thing over again just to get the filter. Glad to know I wouldn't have to.

so did everyone on this thread install an open element filter with their stock pipe and mas adapter? if so did you tune to accompany the change in the amount of air entering the turbo?

I didn't get a tune yet for my car I am running the apexi power intake kit and I do have an EBC. All I did was turn down the boost to be on the safer side of things. This particular kit utilizes the stock MAF and inlet pipe, the kit includes the filter adapter which allows the filter to "mate" onto the inlet pipe.
