if u want a 6speed with Bilsteins go get an MR.
MR.
I dislike the gunmetal/chrome wheels on the SE. I prefer the less noticable MR over the MR SE.
Not to mention, the Bilsteins alone are worth buying a MR over the GSR. The increased ride comfort is night and day. Even with 32000 on my MR, it drives noticably better than my friends GSR X. I assume the new MR will have an improved ride too. The MR IX is just the way to go. The SE models just provide drivers within a niche to find the EVO more appealing. Its basically a sales gimmick.
Although, I do like the SE lip and red stitching on the seats. They add some character, but thats about it.

I like the grey wheels of the MR better than the color of the SE, but I like the lip on the SE better than the MR. The MR Bilsteins are great too. But since I got new wheels, an APR cf front lip, and switched to coilovers (and most people end up upgrading some/all of these anyway) the major difference is the 5 or 6 speed. I have the 6 speed, but if mine goes some day I will buy a built TRE/Shep 5 speed... and built 5 speeds>stock SE 5 speeds anyways, if my 6 speed dies someday I'll replace it with the best one available. No regrets about not waiting a year for the SE, love my MR!
I much rather prefer the MR over the SE, not only because that's what I bought, but mostly because if I bought the SE, I'd be sitting at a light one day and a MR will pull up next to me and even though it might not be apparent, I'll know the other car is just a little better than mine. Handling, Gearing, Whatever.
Owning the MR is knowing that as far as stock Evo is concerned, it doesn't get any better than this.

The MR SE version is the latest and greatest Evolution IX ever.
*6 speed transmission
*Bilstein shocks
*Front air dam extension
*Red stitching
*Wickerball extension on wing
*HID headlamps
*Polished BBS wheels
*Tarmac Black Pearl is only exterior color option in MR SE version
MR is the best all-around Evo ever made. Fact.

well said but the mr se come's in different exterior color's too mine is wicked white that's rare, and my friend has the red even more rare.also not to mention on the se mr the bumper is wider do to the extended air dams for the brakes sytem.
i think mr would be the better choice. However if you are planning on building a 500+whp monster, then go with the gsr/se. The 6 speed should be good up to around 500whp max. As far as resale, the mr will typically cost 4k more than a gsr and around 2k more than se.
