Sounds to me like someone ordered cheaply priced pistons which turned out to be used pistons.

Communication fault?

I saw these pistons in person. I mean seriously. Jay was not aware that these pistons were used. period. Just because you "priced" them at a "normal price" or whatever it was. Does not mean he "knew" they were in this condition. If you're honestly trying to pull that off you're making yourself look as bad on here, as you do on tuners.

No, they sell their stupid "SBR spec pistons" as something special and overcharge for them, so in this case he was getting a "normal" price on them which seemed "normal. In reality he was being scammed and not told the condition of the pistons; Scrap metal.

On a side note. I can almost bet that just this thread alone, will cost you more than a refund for a set of pistons that you sold knowing that person had no idea they were buying junk.

My sincerest apoligies for helping you out. And if i can remember correctly, you didnt want the manifold and wanted to keep it under 1000, which i did for you. The special was WITH the manifold....so even if we still did had everything in stock that deal would only apply to all 3 items, though i gave you the price you wanted to keep it under. Not sure what your basing this on, but once again...my sincerest apoligies for trying to help you out.

Take that up with Kinetic, we cannot "warranty" the turbos because we dont build them, period. They get warrantied by the manufacturer. And ANY time we have a turbo fail within their one year warranty time period, the turbo gets sent back and as long as it wasnt user fault (installed turbo on brand new engine that wasnt broke in yet, gooped up the feed fittings with teflon tape/paste, insuffecent oil pressure, etc) they get warrantied hands down. Did you send this turbo back to them to have it looked at? Who did you contact here about it?

Oh, and 20 to none says if i did buy the guy a plane ticket, hed never show up.

No even better is asking for pricing on a combo of piston and rods, and receiving a quote that is higher than their listed website price. Man you must need a little more commission sometimes? Mike not sharing that 300k / month...

The turbo thing happened over 2 years ago and I've never heard of Kinetic, it was a SBR branded turbo, that's all I know and that's all that matters. Empty promises are what SBR is good at, whether it be Joe, Mike, or anyone else there. You guys all work/don't work together to continually pass the buck and it gets really old.

A bit literal, but I asked Craig about that plane ticket--more empty promises:

No I don't condone violence, but maybe face-to-face you guys would not be so inconsiderate for your customers. The fact that you guys so blatantly ripped off a stand-up vendor such as Jay makes me sick.

Hello, any class-action lawyers out there on evoM?

In this case i condone the violence. I would love to see this guy try and do what he says he will. I love to fight its my hobbie.

But this was not a case of blatenly "ripping" anyone off. If anything it was miscommunication that we will never know about because the original salesman is no longer here. And my promises dont go empty so dont insult me. You dont know me. If i say im going to do something ill do it, those turbos are built for us, not by us. If that was my sale, an RMA would have been issued from the manufacturer and you would have sent it back to them for repair..its that simple. Let me ask again, who you spoke with? Whats your name so i can look up th einformation?. And paying to fly someone here just to end up back in jail for from the damage inflicted, that just seems obsurd, dont you think? Though, i am intimidated by his E Fighting skills...i will say that (rolleyes).

That sucks this happened. I have heard of things like this happening with SB Racing. I was ready to purchase a turbo kit from them for my Integra and I didn't. I went with a Full Race kit.

Hopfully you can get this resolved.

Roll your eyes all you want man, but when Slowboy Racing gets backed into a corner on issues like these they show their true colors: pink and taco colored.

SBR couldn't help me 2 years ago and Mike Huml himself couldn't help me about a year ago. He offered to pay for shipping the turbo back to SBR for inspection. Guess what he wanted to pay for it with? Store credit at SBR. What a laugh...thanks but no thanks, I don't care anymore.

I have nothing to counter act your case beings i wasnt here and i wasnt dealing with you. I just got done with a customer that had a bad suby turbo, OUR name brand turbos, I got an RMA from the vendor, sold him a new one we had here...it went back to the manufacturer, they confirmed it was bad..and a full refund was issued. Thats how things work around here. I cant speak for anyone who you dealt with before, but this is how I deal with my customers. So i dont appreciate the insults because you are speaking in general. I have no control what anyone has done here, past or present other than myself. And i apoligize for what happened 2 years ago. If that were today, and you were dealing with me...that wouldnt be the case.

It's a shame that SBR sent an honest customer a crap used product when they bought and paid for new.

It's a bigger shame that SBR doesn't see the need to apologize to the customer and move heaven and earth to fix it and make it right.

It's absurd that SBR then blames the customer for not deducing that a good deal means that he's getting used pistons (because "nobody would sell new pistons for that price"). WTF?

It's a public service for Jay to warn the rest of us about what to expect. If SBR treats repeat customers it knows like this, what do you think the average first time buyer will get from SBR in the way of fair treatment when they have a problem?

What is the moral of this story? Don't risk dealing with SBR. Their business philosophy will cause you heartburn, lose you time, and cost you money. Buy your parts from people who have integrity, who will stand behind their mistakes, and who work to make your buying experience a good one, and send you what you pay for.
