I guess I am still confused on whats going on here.
1) Did you all know the pistons were used before you shipped them out?
2) If you knew they were used, did you all explicitly relay that info to JayRacing.com? Because I'm sure he would have liked to tell his customer that.
3) If the pistons were sold as new because they were a custom order - is it your fault or the manuf's fault that they are used?

Just let me know when you need to use your credit Jay.

Coming here and posting BS about myself and SBR Inc. will not make me give into you, I am sorry. Coming onto a public forum you got your sympathy like you were looking for - but at the end of the day you still have 100% store credit like I told you on the phone.

Do you think you get what you want by throwing a temper tantrum like a three year old? Not going to work with me Jay - sorry again.

Feel free to email me when you need pricing - or call any of us here.. we will be happy to walk you through what's in stock and could ship until 4:00 today.

I have to admint... this is totally unfair. He deserves a refund based on the one undeniable fact. Customer purchased a used set of pistons. The used pistons were un-usable. Period. There should be no discussion. If i sold you a used intercooler, and it arrived at your door with a hole in one of the endtanks... you would expect a refund of your money... not store credit. Just my $.02. Ive never done buisness with either of these people. I perfer face to face local purchases. But I have to admit... this is just totally wrong. You have locked this man into another deal... when he has no intention of doing any further buisness with you based on the idea that he got screwed. He lost a customer. You have the pistons, and his money. The pistons are bad.. you know it.. should have known it before they shipped. Thats your fault... not the customers.

I just spend an hour analyzing this post. I can honestly say I will never ever buy from Slow Boy Racing. Neither will any of my buddies in Boston (which include a **** load of EVO, WRX, and VW owners). SBR Inc., you guys approached this issue completely the wrong way.

I suspect that Mike repeated the quote from Inc magazine enough time that he actually believed it.

No, in fact Jay approaced this in the wrong way. This is where the misconception comes into play. You buy into the "woe is me" thing and disregard the facts. Call wiseco...4-5 weeks for custom pistons. Retail price, near 600 dollars. He paid less than what we would pay for them. Why would we pay for his pistons? Cmon, lets be a little more open minded instead of assuming (once again, we all know what that does) and look at the facts based on the argument. Point is we in NO WAY would sell used pistons as new. Used pistons would be sold as used pistons. If Jay was misunderstanding on the fact he was getting used pistons...well then i cant help but say thats not our fault, yet we still refunded him for them in full. Let me bring this fact up yet again, if that was the case, wouldnt he have just wanted that store credit towards a set of new ones? Realistic replys would be appreciated.

Wow, the more I read your posts, the more I pissed I get.

How do you consider what he is posting BS? These pistons were for his customer, not himself. HIS customer does not need these pistons anymore. Therefore, WTF is the OP going to do with store credit? You gave him crap pistons, so you give him a refund. Simple as that. I cannot even begin to comprehend why you would not want to give him a refund. It's not like your at a loss. I guess now you are.....

Answer me this one question Mike: Did you sell Jay an unusable part?

If they answer is yes then you at least owe him his money back. If not more due to the fact that he lost a customer due to your less then desirable business practices.

Question for Jay Racing,

Did you know you were buying used pistons?

Question for Joe/Mike @ SBR,

Is it ok to sell parts, even if used and customer know they are used, sell parts that can not be used because they are no good?

Or, do you think those pistons are perfectly fine to re-use?

If said used parts are advertised as used parts, then yes. 100% ok.

They are going in an engine we are building for one of our shop cars as we speak, so to answer your question, yes. They are fine.

New or Used you're still avoiding the fact that you sold him a box of pistons that were unusable. You have no problem with that at all do you? This is so F'd up!! Jay has every right to come in here and complain about you. He tried to handle it but you decided to hide behind some crap policy that has nothing to do with a customer returning something he didn't want or something he ordered wrong. Where in your policy does it cover the parts you sell that are junk? Speaking of junk, how come you haven't publicly announced that it was your fault for sending out a box of junk and that it'll be handled.
