Thanks for your input and welcome to the lightweight twin disc club!

It all sounds very similar to the QM twin i have but it obviously sounds a bit easier w/ at least 1 sprung hub.

But i most def agree and it's something i've been saying for a while but with the way my car is modded it seems to feel/drive the best at WOT lol.

Low speed shifting is not what this thing was intended to do.

got the SS trim installed and it is indeed a very nice clutch....one side is a 6 puck carbon metallic and the other is "full faced" kevlar on both of the discs. I have to break it in for 500 miles as per Spec.

No Ted's is in fact a P-trim. It has twin 6 puck discs. I know because I installed it. I believe SPEC does not refer to the friction material as cerametalic, but carbon-graphite in the P-trim version.

So it goes "SS" > "P" > "ST"? From entry level up?

Can you guys share the price diff between them and what's the material used on the "ST"?

couple hundred between each I think?
The SS iirc is a 7.25 (although I could be wrong), much like the Tilton, etc. and I think its approximately the same price as the tilton twins.

the "P" trim, which is what I went with, is a bit more, approximately the same price as the exedy 022HD + a new TOB, depending on who you get it from.

Detailed specifics, you would be better off just calling and talking to them, they're very helpful. I prefer to talk to Danny Smith when I call up there, but any of them should be able to answer any question you have (if you do talk to danny, tell him kenny will see him by the flag pole at 3:30! )

SS trim is rated for 900lb/ft of tq. and uses a "hybrid" clutch disc where one side of the disc is full faced Kevlar and the other side is a 6 puck carbon metallic

P trim is rated for 1100lb/ft of tq. and uses twin 6 puck ceramic discs

ST trim is rated for 1200lb/ft of tq and uses twin full faced carbon metallic discs

E trim is rated for 1400+ lb/ft of tq. and uses two unsprund citered iron discs which is not recommended for the street

All the "trims" use the same sized discs and are virtually the same except for the friction material

They all use a Quater Master hydraulic TOB/setup as well...hope this helps!

Im considering a ss trim for my daily ix. It sounds like the clutch to go with right now after all my research. The car is stock right now but my modding is going to begin with the clutch, trans, and case. Keep us updated on how the spec is treating you guys.

Thanks for this - I was looking for this info in an easy to digest way.

What does it cost to rebuild these things and how many DD miles (obviously this varies tremendously) are people seeing out of them before having to rebuild them?

Thanks so much for the breakdown of the clutches offered!

I'll wait and see how the SS trim turns out as that's seems to be th ebest suited for my tq level.

I wonder if i can use the TOB from my QM kit with the rest of the spec set-up???

I did not and don't believe at this point that I will.

you might be able to, but the kits come with new TOB's anyway, no reason to re-use an old one.
