How Much for a new Evo / Is this a good deal? *Sticky/Merge* (Includes EvoM vendors)
Sad truth. I went to test drive a Genesis coupe yesterday (long story, dont ask) and mentioned that I was in the market for an Evo as well. So when we finished the test drive of the Genesis, we hopped over to their Mitsu store to check the Evos. Well the whole time he's telling me all these stats and parts, and I'm correcting him on just about every one of them, shaking my head. We walk up and there's an MR and a GSR right next to each other. As we're getting closer I say "Ahhh, I see you have an MR. Not exactly my style, but good car none the less. What's that beside it? A GSR?" (other cars were in the way, so I couldn't get a good look at it). His response - "I'm not sure. I'm not Mitsubishi certified yet." This comes after him saying "I've got Evos over there. That Mitsubishi lot is mine, so I know what all is over there." Smh...I wish all dealers were as smart as some of the ones I've seen on here. Oh well. I still got to FINALLY ride* in the Evo
*I didn't want to drive the Evo cause I knew I would do something crazy in that car, and knowing full well I wasn't going to buy that one, I didn't want to mess up someone else's brand new X. He on the other hand felt the need to push it so hard that I think he burnt the clutch. Got out of the car and he said it was some engine cleaning mix they put in the car from the factory....

That is a good price. The MSRP on that model is 38,990(including destination). So your basically getting a 7k discount for it having low miles on it. If you get it, let me know. I'm dying to get the part numbers for the center console that only comes with that leather/sunroof package!
Tell him Aaron Montell from Atlanta told you about them. Also check out their website, they keep a updated stock list with pics on there.

Call Anthony at R.C. Hill Mitsubishi in Florida. 386-898-2038cell. They have those for $3200 less. I traveled down there to pick-up mine and they saved me almost 4k. I got everything set-up before I got there and all I had to do was sign paperwork. I was in and out in 45min! They get a lot of people that either fly down there to pick it up or they ship them to the customer.

So I figured I'd go to the local dealership to see the options. Granted Carmax is still shipping my 2011 GSR (Sight & Sound; Leather/Sunroof/Subwoofer) I wanted to "bargain" shop. As soon as I hit the lot I was granted by a salesman who immediately tried to push me towards a 2008 GSR with 55k miles. Why? I don't know! He already knew of Carmax shipping. I'd also explained that my credit union has approved me for the Carmax Evo @ $32k.
So we get into the showroom where the 2012 Evos are and he knows absolutely nothing about the car. I asked "Is it a GSR or MR?". I finally got the answer after sitting in the drivers sit as he point to the steering wheel. "SRS! It's an Evo SRS". WTF! Didn't know the 2012s came in "Supplemental Restraint System" Trim. Didn't know it had a twin turbo and a 2.4 engine. Wow!
But I digress... I wanted hard numbers as I already had money for the vehicle. He sat me down to sign paperwork. Which I politely refused. The salesman got angry. Started to tell me there's no way to get numbers without paperwork. So I shook his hand to leave and I guess the Sales Manager saw and opted to get the owner. I simply explained to the owner and his entourage (5 guys listening as if I was delivering the "I Have a Dream" speech) my intentions. He said that without documentation there'd be no way to contact me if Mitsubishi released a rebate for the Evo. Does this happen? Ever? But finally he quoted me $35.5k for a GSR with no options.
Anyone got advice? 2011 GSR (Sight & Sound; Leather/Sunroof/Subwoofer) 32k or 2012 GSR with no options for 35.5k?

Have you looked at Don Herring Mitsu in the Dallas area? That isn't too far from San Antonio. You'll get a better deal there.
At this point it seems like keeping the car coming in from CarMax at $32K is a better option. But I think you could still get that price down. How do you feel about owning a used Evo and not knowing who owned it previously? I personally could never own a used Evo. You never know what the previous owner did to it and I've seen too many horror stories on this forum.
If this was me I would wait until I could get a brand new 2012 (or a leftover 2011 still on the lot) for invoice price. Check Edmunds.com for the invoice price. You could also check a resource like http://www.truecar.com/ They will give you a set price that a local dealer will honor and it is typically right around invoice price.
Good luck!
Mission San Antonio on San Pedro & 410
Thank guys. I was thinking the 2011 too. Just making sure I'm not crazy.
Also once the car gets here I plan on doing some investigative work. I'm scheduling a full work up with another Mitsubishi dealership so I can take advantage of the 5 day money back guarantee.
Horror stories you say? I'll do a search but any threads you could pick to?

Went to a dealership in New Britain,CT
MSRP on a 2012 Evo X GSR with options:
1. Sight Sound
2. Ebrake Handle and Shifter upgrade
3. Navi
4. Lip kit all around or whatever it is
Pretty much all the options that you can put on a GSR without leather and sunroof.
MSRP the sales guy wrote down as $41,xxx
I want to know what i should try to get it for?
I was thinking $37,xxx before TTL
Sound like a good idea? Or even Possible? Please help me out guys. Im willing to travel too if necessary, I hear Paramus in NJ was good at price negotiations, but they are 3 hrs away just for a look see.
