You missed one of the ways too. Get stiffer springs and run with STU guys instead!!

Me on the other hand...looking forward to the oncoming season! Some of he changes I have done at the end of last season make me feel good about this one. We will know soon!

There is some strange noise coming from the front pads and there is a chance that I might need new pads. That would be kind of strange since these were installed last year and they should not be worn out yet. I will check them more this weekend, but if pads are actually worn, I would need new ones.

So, I started of with DS2500 and they were nice. Switched to Carbotech AX6 and they were way stronger when hot (a bit too much for street tires) and created insane amount of dust and noise. Switched those to Porterfield R4S and they performed extremely well last season, but if they are done already (a bit over 6 months of daily driving and less than 6 autoX-es) I don't want them back there.

So, I am leaning toward the Ferodo's again, but if there are other recommendations for dual use (street and autoX - no track days), I would like to hear them.

Thanks!

Fedja
ps. where would you recommend I get those from. Last set of pads was from someone selling them here, but they are no longer here - Gruppe-S was the name

Stranoparts. Keep it in the community and all that. If those aren't the right pads I'm sure he can recommend you some.

I had no issues with girodisc ss pads, except I tracked them and with the shim setup I had, ruined them.

very excited to see how the vette/Porsche/s2k battle plays out this year. evos, focus rs, etc.. is just second tier in BS

Could you say a bit more about those Girodisc pads?

As of BS, I can't wait!

autox/street only, low noise if you bed them & use antiseize, fair amount of dusting, and stops better than stock pads. not up to snuff for track.

So, would you say they are better than DS2500?

As the original advocate of the S/S pads to Sam I'm happy to see that he approves

They have served me well I've gone through a few sets and have a brand new set sitting patiently in my garage waiting for their big moment!

If we ever cross paths at Devens you can take my car out for a spin and feel them. That is of course if you can figure out what the heck that 3rd pedal is for

Haha yes, its very confusing but I think Im starting to get the hang out it. Hard to explain but essentially you have the loud pedal, the slow pedal and that 3rd one which I guess allows you to stop and press the loud pedal at the same time to scare people.

And maybe this will be the year I made an appearance at NER. We shall see...

I put the S/S pads on my GF's X mr on Sam's recommendation. They work great, and are quiet. Definitely happy with them.
