Walbro 255 question

I was going to buy a walbro 255 for somebody on the forums but all he had is the fuel pump nothing else. Is that all I will need to hook it up and everything else will hook up fine. Or will I need new o rings or anything else?

The pump itself is a direct replacement. All you need is the pump unless your seal is torn or not sealing with the new/used pump installed. However, most people will replace the sock that is installed on the bottom of the pump.

My seal was good and in great condition. The orings that came with my new pump seems weaker than the OEM. I re-used my seal, installed new sock.

I would just opt for a brand new pump and install kit. Its around 100 or less for combo.

Yeah but for 20 it's not bad. I think I'll take the gamble. If it doesn't work out I won't really be out to much.

$20 does sound cheap until you consider the possibility of: Installation labor, dealing w/an issue of a failing pump & the potential engine damage, labor to remove / replace failing pump

IMO, a removed Walbro is a give-a-way item or should just be scrapped

I like the idea of just buying a new one
