A/c stuck on????

A/c stuck on????
My car was making some weird noises the other day. I popped the hood and noticed a noise coming from the belts/timing cover area. I turned the car off, left it overnight, and drove it home and parked it. Noise went away. I drove it the next day and the noise came back. I popped the hood and noticed one of the A/C lines was frozen white and dripping water. My air conditioning was not on, nor was my blower motor.
Has anyone heard of something like this? I am completely lost here.

Only a couple of things can cause this.
A compressor clutch that has too small of a gap and is dragging/has failed.
An A/C compressor clutch relay is sticking
A short to power on the compressor clutch power wire.
Computer getting a signal that driver has commanded A/C to be on and is grounding the A/C compressor clutch relay(even though no command was given)
Computer has taken a walkabout, lost its mind and is acting on its own, and activating the compressor clutch.(ECM)

This makes sense to me. I removed my clutch in the fall and used the service shim kit to get the a/c working again. Only a matter of time until failed again. This would also explain the chatter I was getting from the belt/timing cover area.
Most likely my a/c clutch is borked?

Your last post wouldn't show the easy way so I quoted it the roundabout way.
Thank you for the help. I agree with your troubleshooting steps and they're all logical possibilities. I will look to dig into it tonight if not Sunday.
It's been hot as hell in my region! Thank God I have two cars

It appears to me as to the A/C clutch that's the problem.
Every so often the clutch will stop spinning and stay put but then immediately kick back on. This would explain the noise I was hearing initially. My motor was also idling lower than usual at cold start, and would stop moving quickly and abruptly (extra tension on the belts would explain this).
I was only able to get one of the connectors unplugged on the compressor (it looks like there is two) to rule out any electrical malfunction. I however did not hear the clicking of my A/C relays and when I moved my HVAC controls to the ON positions it did nothing because my compressor was already on...
