If I'm not mistaken all 3 are the same ring and pinion .
What I know is there are differences depending on USDM version vs others are that one might include AYC, ACD, both or none.
I prefer the USDM Evo 8 transfer case. It does not have ACD or AYC . Less things to worry about and less complexity . But it might not contain LSD unless it's an RS tcase. That's not a big deal because LSD can easily be installed.
I'm going to assume most people will agree non ACD/AYC tcase is better option based off of how many posts and conversations I've seen people wanting to convert from ACD to non ACD transfercases. Off course there are a few that will disagree as they genuinely benefit from those parts in their specific application they use their EVO (I assume rally race, ACD tuning etc..) . Then there are those that will just disagree only because they own an ACD tcase and want their Evo to seem more valuable when they sell or special to brag about etc...

When the Evo came to the states some transfer cases failed right away and some last no matter the miles or abuse. Those that fail are much more robust once rebuilt by one of the quality builders. So, it seems, from the factory, quality, probably correct tolerances, weren't always right. So, I'd say, if looking for strongest, have it rebuilt.
