If you're looking to upgrade,Turbosmart makes an Internal Waste Gate with various spring options based on how much boost you plan on running. They can be picked up from various vendors such as MAP, ETS and Forced Performance. Bought one for my VIII and has held up for a few years now.

Do you happen to know if they make a tool to gauge the pressure of your wastegate? Or do I need a regulator and an air compressor?

I used the hand pump for a brake bleeding kit to test my old stock wastegate.
