What if 225 or even 215?
I just bought a Evo X 2008 its currently on engine refurbish becaus I bought it needed new headgaskets and I like a lot its driftability of the Evo I m actually planing on keepng it almost stock, perhaps just a BOV hks some cool looking rims and I was thinking.... what if instead of fitting 245 section tires I fit 225 or even 215 to make the car less gripier and more driftier
I must say, Im not planing to daily it for that I got a normal lancer 2009
Has anyone done this? fitting smaller tires on EVO Xs??? please share specially if you have videos

Do bolt ons and a tune. ~320whp with stock size tires makes the car very fun.

the thing with starting to tune is that it never ends at least to me its like an adiction and I never know when to stop, I have done some pretty over the top mods over time and then I look back and just feel sorry for the cars.

also I think VAG invented the modern concept of bigger and bigger tire sections to hide the fact they don't have neither the chassis nor the suspension control to do real handling cars, so VW is actually the exact oposite to what I m trying to achive, wouldn't you agree? I want something more like the EVO I skinny tires pocket rocked sliding car

This is a terrible idea. The car is extremely fun to drive with very minor mods. I'm talking a test pipe ($250), cat back ($750-$1k), intake (~$300), boost controller ($110), upper intercooler pipe rear section ($150), and tune (~$500). Putting smaller tires on and reducing overall grip is stupid.

But the EVO rs thats sold in japan comes with pretty shi#y tires doesnt it???,and althou the evo doesnt power slide like an RWD the torque vectoring generates that odd state on which the rear and front tires balance out and the car turns in a very different angle that what the steering imput would suggest because the difference on rotation between inner and outer tires help the car rotating so I want to experience a bigger waist of traction or grip while turning just for the sake of fun!! the idea of shi#ier tires as JDZNate sugest sounds good and wont mess the look, so do any one have an EVO rs with the factory steelies and the original rubber? can you share the size of the rubber specially for evo X?? I actually kind of like the look of the RS but I will anhialate my breaks if ever use then with that little vent.
