Info on 63TNE pistons? (Outlander/Airtrek 2.0T) Pictures

Is there anyone here with info on the pistons in the Outlander/Airtrek 2.0T (148 kW)?

I'm planning my next build and since I'm always been into the Evo I'm looking into the 4G63. The Outlander 2.0T is easy to find in good shape at a great price in Sweden which is why I'm considering it as a base.

My plan is to start with stock bottom end, MLS head gasket and ARP. My hopes are that the stock internals are good for ~400WHP on E85 and a solid tune. The car is a wierd mashup of various 4G63T cars:

Crank: Evo 4-9
Rods: Evo 1-2, Eclipse GSX 2nd gen (MD193027)
Pistons: Mysterious "63TNE" (1110A089, 1110A090, 1110A091, 1110A092, 1110A093)
Flywheel: Evo 5-9 (7 bolt)
Head, gasket, intake/exhaust cam: Evo 9

Transmission case: Evo 4-9
Clutch housing: Evo 4-9
(Different gears)

Rear diff case: Evo X
Rear diff gear and final drive: Galant/Legnum VR4

Center diff case: Evo 7-9, Galant/Legnum VR4
Center diff gears: Evo 7-9, Galant/Legnum VR4

And so on.

I found some pictures on the interwebs. Any info on the pistons and other components would be highly appreciated

It's apart. Throw some cheap Hbeams and forged pistons in it. You can get eagles rods and wiseco pistons for like $800 from ExtremePSI.

If you're hell bent on use those OEM rods, I'm not sure what they can handle. They look close to an Evo8/9 rod though, so 400wtq would probably be OK. I would put some ARP rod bolts in them and have your machine shop check the big end for roundness.

The engine is not apart, I just borrowed the pictures. Obviously a built engine is ideal, but the time and cost (gaskers, studs, etc) makes me want to try out the stock bortom end first. A used engine is $1000 so it’s not a catastrophe if it explodes either.

That’s crazy! Do you have more info on your ride?

I’ll have to check if the Airtrek internals differs from Outlander Turbo.

Finally a good Airtrek block thread! I've been waiting for one of these, i'm putting an Airtrek engine in my 8. Did you replace the factory head gasket and head bolts?

Fwiw, mine has 63TE5 pistons, which is supposedly a part number for EVO5 pistons. Because of that I plan to keep everything below 400. Super conservative lmao, I can’t find out much about them otherwise.

hi, its a bit old thread but i can't find any reliable info, what's the model of the airtrek/out engine you put in your evo?how it camed with 63te8 there(https://mitsubishi.epc-data.com/airt...567,1569,1571/) is no model it has this piston. Is it airtrek or outlander?Im now planning to go with 1.5 on stock block so i must learn inside of the engine.Any information about outlander/airtrek engine is valuable for me.
