Lean tip in

Hey guys i have an evo 8 with full bolt ons on sd. I have it running well but when i go to closed loop it has the dreaded lean tip in. I tried async vs tps delta and tried richening up 60 - 90 load area on fuel map. I went as far as to drop it to 11s in that area. It does it most when taking off from a stop. It doesnt always do it. I guess it depends how much gas you give it. If you watch the wideband it always goes to the lean side when taking off. Most of the time is bareable but sometimes it just feels like you hit a wall and wideband goes full lean. When it does this i can usually give it gas and work through it in a few seconds but this sux. Its also pretty dangerous if youre turning and theres traffic coming. If i leave it in open loop it will be fine but i want it to work in closed loop. Im running 9417 sd rom. Any ideas what else i can try?

The fuel map doesn't affect closed loop fueling, so enriching it there won't help. Don't have any other info to help unfortunately.

Well, reason why i tried it is because in one of the main sd threads which is a "sd how to" i beleive this is what the guy recommends doing. Said he did it and fixed his problem but i dont see results doing what he did.

Which ROM are you using 94172715 (3D SD), or 94171715 (2D SD)?
The fix is to increase VE in the 1000-2000 RPM, and 60-90 kPa range. The application of the fix is different depending on the ROM you are using.

make sure your definition matches the one Raptord posted, then change those 1.00 to 1.2 in the accel enrichment table and see if you still get an issue.
your SD table could be a little lean also so test test test.

So the accel enrichment that’s says incorrect does do something? Also, the definitions raptord posted is for rom 8859. Should i still make sure mine matches his?

post 45 and 52 in this thread might help also. John B. is the SD Evo King and usually is correct on issues like these.

If the car is stumbling the second you hit the gas it’s more than likely accel enrichment adjustments, if the car hesitates slightly after depressing the gas pedal and lingers for more than a second it’s more of a VE table adjustment.

If your fuel trims are running into the negative numbers that could be why in closed loop it has issues.

**** then I have to adjust both lol. Couple of times it stumbled and a lot of times it lingers for a sec and works through it. Happens when I’m pulling out from a stop. If i **** gear slow the gear change will be rough and you can see the wideband go lean. This tells me it happens at lower rpms. If i blip the throttle before changing gears it’ll be fine. I’m not worried about that though. The biggest problem is taking off from a stop. I will read through those threads and will get to testing.

Post your SD tuning tables. I'm guessing the load isn't high enough in the 30-100kpa range.

Here you go. Car runs great idling, cruising, wot, etc. Havent wanted to change anything so it doesnt mess everything else up. Im guessing it has something to do with that 78 at 1000 rpms in the sd rpm table. But if i change that it will mess up my idle.

I would bump up the 50~ 70kpa and 90kpa 5 Points and see if that helps the issue. Shouldn’t affect idle. Sounds more like the 70~90 is where you need to adjust.
This might richen up your Cruze areas some but see if that works on the hesitation first.
