E85 Review kit

Hey what’s up everyone, New to this forum. Just got my first evo Monday ( 2005 Evolution 8 ). It came with a few bolt ons ( HKS catback, Ets IC, Downpipe, radiator, intake and evo 9 turbo) but no tune. I was looking at some e85 kits and was wondering if anyone has heard about the MAP e85 kit ? I’m looking to make around 400-450 with no forged internals. So I’ll be adding a bigger turbo soon.

Welcome aboard

Dont think the guys will be on board w/that kit in particular, especially running the stock set-up for now

No need for that large FP or the regulator to start with (The Walbro 255 would be better to start with) . Kit doesnt even come w/a boost solenoid which most of us run

For the E85 with room to grow, Walbro 450/525 and FIC 2150 injectors

Really depends on your future plans

Heck, Ive been on the same 255 Walbro & RC1000's for over 7 years running E85. Granted, as this point, Im about maxed out & need the larger pump & injectors if i wanted to push my stock motor harder than the 460 DynoJet WHP

(push the stock motor too hard & she will let go!)

This is overkill IMO, unless you are trying to break into the 700+whp range. Your injectors shouldn't be that large. Drive-ability will suffer.

Currently tuning a car with 2150s, IDC is in the 50% range at 550whp on E85.

1300's can get you knocking on low 5's, 1650s if you want some headroom.

Walbro 450 or rewired AEM 320 + some 13-1600 injectors is plenty for the 500whp range.

Why would install an 800whp+ fuel system on a stock turbo car?

OP, get some FIC 1200cc Hi-Z Injector and toss a walbro 255 (punch the relief valve) in there and you'll be good to go on the stock turbo. If you need more fuel later, a walbro 450 is fairly easy to mod the pump hanger and install.

I read this incorrectly...Mybad.

We don't know how much bigger he want's to go and it all depends on what he wants for future goals. If you're going to upgrade a part why not upgrade with room to grow just incase?

Compromise.

Just like a larger turbo trades off spool for HP, larger injectors trade off idle and drive-ability characteristics for fuel flow.

You wouldn't run a 6266 for 400whp? So why run the fuel system for it?
