AP Calipers CP5555 a good upgrade over stock?
Hi folks!
Looking at picking up a used brake kit and wondering if they will be a nice improvement over the factory brembo fronts?
Im not super clued up on brakes but understand the "basic fundamentals"
The kit im looking at has 332mm rotors and the calipers are 6 piston.
Unsure of how to work out piston surface areas compared to stock. But the pad sizes seem a decent amount larger. Around 20mm longer per pad i believe & obviously the slightly larger diameter will add a bit more mechanical leverage. Car is purely street/canyons orientated with stock block 7670 so expecting to run 450+hp at the wheels.
Any 1st hand experience would be great.
Thanks guys!

Hey Mick
Yeah, for sure that would be a significant upgrade from our 4 pot Brembos. But, if youre not tracking the EvO the performance diff will not be felt, so much, on the street IMO
If youre getting a good deal on them & youre, in need, go for it. Post up pics after the install
Cheers,

No, Ive only run the stockers on the track w/CarboTech brakes. (fluid and lines are upgraded)
What pads are you running now? Maybe a more aggressive pad would work for you?
We just had a recent thread on a new set of AP Race calipers. Heres the discussion:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...evo-8-9-a.html

Thanks for the link haha. I actually been watching that thread closely. But unfortuantely i am looking for a "street caliper" that has dust seals and all so im not having to rebuild them all the time.
Would dearly like to hear from anybody whos used these CP5555 calipers?
To answer your questions my current setup is T3 DBA4000's all round. Braided lines and Intima SR pads with Motul RBF600 fluid.
