Advice wanted: what’s this 2006 evo 9 with no motor worth?

I’m looking for some advice on picking this 06 evo 9 with no motor up from my buddy. He says everything is there except the motor. The body is in bad shape and so is the interior , but I think it could be a great project car. I just joined the forum and I plan to get this car soon. Just want to know what I should aim for on the offer. Thank you for helping

- Steve

yea it is. But it looks worth it to bring it back. My buddy is asking 4K for it. All parts except the motor cause it blew on him.

4k sounds pretty reasonable.

that's an Evo VIII front bumper, so I'd run the VIN to know exactly what it is.
There's a VIN decoder on this site.

Looks like an Evo 8 in BBY and not an MR.

There's a VIN checker in this thread, as well as a bunch of info that may help you: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...odel-year.html

Not a Evo 9 nor a MR.

It's a Evo 8, has a steel roof with sunroof, evo 8 interior, evo 8 everything else.

I'd pay maybe $50 for that pile of junk.

OP did say he wanted a project car, gotta be at least 4 grand worth of parts just sitting there. Dunno what roller shells are going for these days but this at least has some stuff in it still.

Unless you do body work for a living maybe it would be worth it. Body work isn't cheap. It's deff not a mr or a 9 for that matter so he must not be that good a friend to be lieing to you. I'd walk if I were you and find something better. There's a very nice white roller in the market place.

Here’s what the vin on the car says . He said the parts on it are 8 but he has all the 9 parts.

He is giving you the wrong vin. The photos show a steel roof with a sunroof. Not a MR.

I bet it's a 5 speed as well.

post the vin # he gave you. Does it match the VIN in the photos?

Ok cool thank you! But even it’s not an MR. what is it? And is it worth it to buy and restore as a project car?
