south region over moderated?
we have had a number of issues with posts being deleted about car meets, track days, and get togethers. the track days are posted by the guy who does the track days for the evo club, which i can see can be seen as "Advertising" but how is anyone supposed to find out about these events if no one can post about them?
also, we are having a NTEC meet at a local restaurant tomorrow and both posts have been deleted because the guy who posted it (jeff) works at the restaurant... is it wrong to invite evo people to hang out?
i'm just curious as to the rules regarding this issue. i think the south region is a place where evo people can go to see whats going on locally, and obviously there is something not right about this. can any mods/admin comment?
one thing that could be possible, maybe give clubs a "screen name" with a certain designation like "moderator", "vendor", "car club".... which gives them permission to post about track days, meets at places etc. since we have a "president" and executive board, it wouldn't be a problem to give someone that screen name designation... and then the events can be official, and not have to worry about being moderatorified.
thanks and any feedback would be appreciated.

Vending is vending. Even if the examples you gave are "bending" the rules more than outright "breaking" them, we can't allow it. I know it's somewhat unfortunate, but with such a large site, we cannot start "bending" rules because then it all goes to Hell.
I wish I had something better, but that's the best I can do. If it looks like advertising, we'll probably smite it. *shrug*

Hopefully this will help. Posting not for profit gatherings and meets in our forum's is a normal part of the community's activities and not a problem. There are grey areas where it is tough to decide the intent (i.e. to make money for the OP) and that was the case here.
The removal of a couple of posts evolved from a moderator action and a member's disregard of that action. The correct approach was to post questions and concern here; which you did. Thanks.
