Are sig pictures not allowed on this site?

Why can't everyone have them? The size of them can be limited.

 

Bandwidth consumption will be the problem for those sigs. Plus for those 56Kers, it'll add to the load time which I'm sure they don't want. Look at how many members are active on this site and imagine all of them with sig pics. It's fine now, although it would be really nice to have the option for every member. But I doubt it.

 

another thing i love about this forum. im on my computer with DSL, but when i got to my room i only have 56k and when i visit other forums it really pisses me off to have to wait all damn day just for signature pics.

 

I sort of like that there aren't pictures in sigs, even thought they are fun to look at. I have cable so loading them isn't the problem, but I find myself ignoring people's posts and just scrolling down the page looking at sig pics

 

I've seen other forums where they allow sig pics, and I thought it looked very cluttered. It was hard to locate the actually text in the thread with everyone's sig pic in the way.

 

I just want to know if Turbo Girl's cute - that's why I am for sig pics...

 

Sorry, no sig pics for me.

They congest the site and make looking for information distracting and time-consuming. If EvoM moved to allow sig pics for everyone, I'd probably stop coming here.

 

Do you know that in everyone's user control panle, there is an option to disable seeing people's signatures? Kind of best of both worlds. Those that wanted them could have them, those that do not, will not see them.

I enjoy seeing nice cars, as well as reading good/informative threads.

Well, honestly I like them (limited to banner size at most and despite the fact that I don't have one at present), but with 12,500+ members...imagine the load times and how much strain that would put on the server.

 

Maybe someday people will be open to try it. The pics are hosted elsewhere, not this site so I don't think bandwith would be affected. Virtually any car related forum out there, whether small or huge, has the feature. Tech talk is great, but the other reason I am here is because I want to see some nice EVOs.

Like I said, maybe someday we will see. I do think it would improve the site.

 

And I am also curious. If sigs are so bad and this site is not for them. Why are mods allowed to have them? Seems hypocritical, no?
