Let's make local classified sections

As a recent crossover from the Subaru community, I've noticed a few differences compared to the other boards. How about we create a classifieds section in each of the 7 US regions? The benefits of doing this would make the site more scam-proof and plus it's a chance to meet fellow members of the site.

I am considering making that section available here. I already have it added to my list and will get it done as soon as I can.

I'd give it a thumbs up. It would make it easier to find parts that you could drive and pick up which is helpful as many things we like to swap are hard to ship.

I agree. There some stuff that I just dont want to ship and it would be easier to post in a local section for pick ups. Also it would be great if you need a part in a hurry and dont have time to wait for shipping.

Instead of making a new section, we could have a mod for the region start a FS/FT thread at the begining of each month...Post item + price and remove the post when it sells.

The New England forum on vwvortex has been doing that forever, and it works out great.

+1... like he just said, a fs thread in each region for every month would be perfect... i know the midwest region was doing this for a while until the threads got deleted...

Local sales section would be nice!

Wiznaz for mod status!!! {thumbup}

State specific would actually be pretty nice. A region can be pretty large spanning at greater than 1000 miles. Not too drivable. Or maybe making smaller regions?

Either way, we need something.

state specific would be most helpful due to the fact about half of all users dont have location put in

dsycks Apr 18, 2007 02:37 PM

I lean to regional myself. Putting stuff in a larger area wide forum works for me as well but it would detract from keeping everything in one spot.

Any news so far, or just a thought? This is a pretty big forum so local should do fine

spt Apr 19, 2007 11:34 AM

I do agree it will help and it will be done. Just give me some time to take care of some more critical items.
